All players deserve a fair run in the team, especially in this era of shortened series of just two and three Test matches, but our Jaguars’ players seem to be discarded by the selection panel after just two or three Tests.

It follows that if we do not have the caliber of Test players with the required level of performances to be selected, we need to then look at the emerging players from the PCL.

That is a good statement. While I don’t agree with all the names being pushed for selection without understanding who they are going to replace their concern about Some players like Powell given many series to fail while Hemraj and Lewis gets discarded just after 2-3 tests is a valid concern.

In my view WI selectors just select a few to satisfy that they are selecting regional performers while they have a few chosen who they wait to perform.
