What is suspected to be food poisoning has caused a delay in the start of the second session of play on day three of the Professional Cricket League Regional Four-day game between Guyana Jaguars and Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Providence.

News Room understands several players have been affected. The Match Referee and Umpires are currently meeting with team officials to decide on a way forward.

Play has been suspended indefinitely due to “exceptional circumstances”, Match Referee Reon King told News Room. A doctor is at the venue attending to the affected players.

I thought the food poisoning occurred during the lunch period but they came to the ground this morning with symptoms. That suggests it could have been from what they ate the night before. If they went out and ate street food or some such thing last night.
