Got pushed to popularity and will win road March..
You can politic any song to success in this realm.
Everybody lucky Killa is Grenadian. That song was a pure hit from day one.

I called it...Savannah grass..

Does Kes and crew have more clout than the Machel kingdom in defining whats popular?
I also thought Savannah was overhyped. But must say that hearing it on the road at jouvert, at the break of dawn against the backdrop of the savannah and the mountains, it felt infectious and liberating. Helped too that Kes was on the truck.
Is there any other song other than Savannah Grass? I'm watching the carnival and EVERY band is jamming to it.

You seeing coverage of the judging points mostly. The many many other songs are being played away from the judging points. For what its worth, this a a good year for soca. Check Problemjay's soca thread.
Who won?
close race...no clear winner announced yet.
Savannah grass is a weak tune.
Famalay is very infectious.

Famalay is very infectious.
yes Savannah Grass is just an average tune
What about Run With It??
At least Dave400 came and brought some sanity, Famalay is a boss road March tune!
In reply to Yamfoot
Foreigners are not entitled to win Road March. In Famalay's case, Skinny's contribution was considered minor.
Famalay, I think, now opens the door for Trini/external collabs with Road March in mind. Which is a good thing.
One strong song was Voice Natty and Thunder Pandemonium. I think Voice will eventually challenge road march. This year was his first experiment with a power tune and I think he did extremely well...his song got great acceptance.
phew....Famalay sees to be winner....I so effing glad to be wrong this time...
