Guyana came into this round with 25.2 (136 vs 110. points ahead...
LI just won ...according to the rules they earned
12 + 2 (batting) + 3 (bowling) + fast bowling points - 1.8 (1st innings) + 1.6 (2nd innings) = 20.4 points
Guyana just won
12 + 0 batting + 3 (bowling) + fast bowling points -1.8(1st innings) + 1.4 (2nd innings = 18.2 points
So LI has reduced the Guyana lead by 2.2 points...
therefore Guyana leads by 23.0 (25.2-2.2)
LI got 1 more to play...can they catch up?
YES
They can earn a maximum of 12 + 5 (batting) + 3 (bowling) + 4 fast bowling (20 *0.2) = 24 points
if they do they will clear the Guyana 23.0 and therefore be crowned winners

OK Leewards, here's the path to glory
For LI to earn the 24 maximum they need to do the following
earn at least 23 points
They can earn a maximum of 12 + 5 (batting) + 3 (bowling) + 4 fast bowling (20 *0.2) = 24 points
1. Score 400 runs or over within the first 110 overs of their first innings - 5 points
2. Take 9-10 Barbados wickets in each innings (3 points)
3. take at least 15 Bajan wickets with fast bowling - 15 *0.2 = 3 points
4. win the match (12 points)

Dosra the Math genius. Well done. So Mathematically we still can win but that is a tall task. I know we can beat Barbados but 400 runs in 110 overs is a tall task and 15 Bajan wickets with fast bowling too.
Don't pop the bubbly just yet.

yep mathematically you are still in it
in my mind LI was the best team this year tho...at least up to this point
In reply to doosra
Yes I agree with you about leewards being the best team this season up to this point and it's because they keep the playing 11 intact for almost all the games and also the LI players were not being affected by having to play for the WI senior and A team as teams like Bim,Guy,tites, and yard.
In reply to Devvvvvvv
Jahmar Hamilton, Alzhari Joseph, Devon Thomas, Kiean Powell at one time or another were out of the team.

Most of Dem play atleast 6 matches tho except Joseph and Hamilton.
Hats off to LI tho...they play exceptional cricket all season..the Victory against the volcanoes in the the first clash was the most impressive tho...they really improve a lot this year as a team.

Yes that is true in regards to us being the best team. Cornwall is the MVP but there have been good consistent performances by Carty, Hodge, Thomas, Warde, Berridge. Just waiting for the Baseball player to figure out how to bat again.
Great analysis and forecasting.
I really would love for them man to win, will be a tall task.
But two games this season they have played the odds be declaring and chasing down a total. The one against Winwards was well one of beauty as Dev pointed out.
Hoping we can continue being impressive in the Super 50 later this year and next season.
What has really helped is these guys training and living together. It has helped tremendously.
Can LI sustain this performance next year?
Jaguars will try to improve their batting by looking for replacements for Hemraj, Johnson, Singh and Rutherford. If suitable replacements could be found then the results would be the same again next year.

On the assumption dat both teams are going to win their remaining games
In reply to Maispwi
when you say both teams what do you mean? Jags already done their 10
In reply to doosra
Interesting.. well if we can't win let the Leewards have it
A run fest it is.
In reply to doosra
My bad but ah was following de CWI website which suggests dat Guyana have one more game and Leewards 2
In reply to Maispwi
