No Universe Boss today. John Campbell replaces Chris Gayle. England too make a change to their playing XI.

Mark Wood comes in for Plunkett.

Willey to Shai Hope, out Caught by Hales!! "A continuation of what we saw in the second T20I," says Darren Ganga on air. Horror start for Windies. A soft dismissal. It was an innocuous delivery from Willey - pitched up and wide of off, Hope leant across and chipped it straight to the fielder at cover. Looked like, he gave a catching practice to the fielder.

Tom Curran to Hetmyer, FOUR, uppish, but in the gap. Fullish ball outside off, Hetmyer gets forward and drives on the rise. Finds the gap between mid-off and extra cover

Willey to Hetmyer, out Caught by Jordan!! Another soft dismissal. The slower ball does the trick. A fullish ball at 115kph, Hetmyer doesn't pick the change of pace and goes through with his stroke - lofted off-drive - way too early. Gets it off the toe-end and chips it towards mid-off.

Hetmyer c Jordan b Willey 8(7) [4s-1]

Willey to Darren Bravo, FOUR, 134kph, loads of width on offer on this back of a length delivery. Bravo sees it and flashes his bat hard to elevate it over point. A couple of bounces and into the fence. Darren Bravo gets off the mark with a boundary

Narper 2019-03-10 16:18:20

3.4
Jordan to John Campbell, FOUR, 119kph, wayward line from Jordan. Slow, shortish and down leg, that's easy pickings for Campbell. Heaved away through backward square leg

3.2
Jordan to John Campbell, FOUR, 136kph, another leg-stump line short of length delivery. Campbell stands tall on the back foot and pulls it behind square leg. Raced away

Mark Wood to Holder, no run, put down! Root is the culprit. Another good length delivery that holds onto the pitch a bit and hence Holder was early into his stroke - clip. It was uppish, Root dived forward and went with both hands at mid-wicket. Didn't stick!

Bring in the specialists. Simmons and Rutherford would have been good here.

Can you think of any semblance of grey matter that would allow this team to be embarrassed in such a manner?

Who does the thinking and gets Board approval for this crap?

It tells a tale of a lack of knowledge about this game.

Yet, these Administrators and coaches CWI claims are the best?

We had players that play around the World in T20. Somehow the Brain trust at CWI assemble this group with the asinine conception this would help gell an ODI team?

Heads must roll.

How can players be blamed?
They are put into a situation where some are not familiar with.

CWI has some unique asinine concept that an ODI team would gell playing T20?

Who are the Brains that thought this out?

Brumar74 2019-03-10 17:20:08

The board, selectors, and whoever else thought it was a good idea to keep a poorly selected ODI team together to build team spirit before the World Cup in England for a T20 series. Totally different mind and skill set required in this format.
Who will take responsibility for this EMBARASSMENT to our cricket?????
What ever little spirit was built has been TOTALLY DESTROYED.
But Nurse was smart enough to twist his finger so he was not part of this. Place guaranteed for England again.
Whoever made this decision should do the honorable thing and GO.

Jason Holder:
I don't think there was a drop of intensity. We didn't bat well in the last two matches. And England executed their plans very well. If the conditions are not well we should be able to adapt. We are working on our death bowling. I think this was a good tour. We won the Test series and we fought hard in the ODI series. There are a lot of positives for us. Our next assignment is against Ireland and we are looking forward to it.

Chris Jordon, Man of the Series: It was a good series for us. I am not thinking about the World Cup. I would like to take the process take care of itself.

David Willey, Man of the Match. I tried to put the ball in the good areas and forced some errors from the Windies batsmen. I want to take wickets whenever I get the ball. I try and take the early wickets, when I take them that's a bonus.

Eoin Morgan: We have played very well in this series. New guys have come in and have taken the limelight. These are the guys who don't get a lot of opportunities. Denly and Billings have played very well. And Man of the series Jordon was outstanding too. And today's game was all about David Willey.
