NAME YOUR T20 SQUAD
In reply to XDFIX
I've been thinking about this and the only missing members of the t20 squad are Rovman, Andre and Evin. I will not count Bravo and Pollard because they traditionally chose the franchises over West Indies.
Would the 3 above have made a difference?
Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis Shai Hope(w), Shimron Hetmyer, Darren Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Jason Holder(c), Roston Chase, Shannon Gabriel, Derval Green, Oshane Thomas
In reply to sunfish
Do you blame them, who would want to be embarrassed in such fashion?
In reply to sunfish
Gayle, Lewis, Hope, Pooran, Pollard, Powell, Russell,Rutherford,Allen, notebook Williams, Cotterel
Khary Pierre, lil B, Thomas,McCoy
A real T 20 to start preparing for coming World Cup 2020 should have been at least the following
1. Gayle (not sure he will be around)
2. Green - as an opener and a pacer (since Lewis is sick)
3. Brandon King
4. Pooran - wicket-keeper (Hope should not keep in this format)
5. Hety (although has a tough head)
6. Kaven Hodge or Rutherford
7. Cornwall
8. Allen
9. Brathwaite (until we have a better captain choice) or Russell
10. Cotterell
11. Mcoy
Others around this squad should be Athanaze, Melius, Carty and Pierre

our batting is too dependent on a 40 year old Gayle. Hetmeyer and Pooran are ones for the future but they are not quite ready.
In reply to solidrock
The new captain is already on the team in Hetmeyer.
Braithwaite will never replicate that feat. That was his moment in the sun.
Pick an all rounder in his place or a spinner batsman.
In reply to XDFIX
Exactly and most these guys were available
Hope should be no where close to the t20 team am still not convince he is an international cricketer he gets out like someone that's disinterested
My issue is we were using the T20I for further fine tuning of the ODI squad, suh why change the batting order and team composition?
In reply to Barbrady1
Sorry - Holder, Hope, & Bravo should not be close to any international T20 team.
Any player that's the first inclination is to defend when the ball is bowled should not play T20 cricket at the international level.
Ex: Gayle's first instinct is not to defend and I believe this is one of the reasons for his represented success.
Likewise, Bishoo should not be close to any international T20 team.
Look at the WI T20 teams that have won World Cups. Like other cricketing nations we need to have players that are 20-20 specialist.
In reply to Veracity … well this was to continue world cup preparation, which turned out to be a farce as the ODI team was not used as I expected.
They batted in this order for the ODIs and should have been maintained.
Gayle
Campbell
Hope
Bravo
Hety
Holder
CB
Nurse (or a replacement)
Allen for Bishoo
Cottrell
Thomas (or McCoy if you want to take a look)

Is this sarcasm?
Cos to be fair, batting #3 in a T-20 could very well be considered the equivalent of 6 in an ODI, in relation to game situation, power plays, slog overs so on.
TBH, you cant prepare for an ODI playing T-20s..it was bullshit, and i think just the usual copy and paste laziness from the selectors and incompetence from the CWI.
EWCB could easier get Chris Jordan the 4000 miles to Gros Islet than CWI could get Rutherford the less than a 1000 miles to the same venue
In reply to Mrcricket Why persist with SHope & Lil Bravo in this format? They dont have that instinctual aggression for this format. Full stop.
In reply to BeatDball
Both top 10 in 2018 CPL, Not much better than them in runs and SR.
They may be the T20 version of Devon Smith
We don't have a T/20 team, who can we safely count as a world class T/20 player,Gayle appears to be more 50 over man in recent times, but iffy in T/20.Who else.Check NZ,Oz,India,SA and England, even Pakstn looks better equipped than Windies.Watch the Afghans too.We have many "hit or miss" 20/20 players unlike other countries where, although it's 20/20,some thinking is required.

In reply to granite
Pierre should have been there instead of Bishoo.
Rutherford
King
A lot of the players who played the T20 played as if they didnt have anything to play for.
At least if you brought in the specialist they would try to prove themselves.
Where is Kemo Paul
what happened to Krishmar Santokie?
