Whither Capitalism?

Given the severity of the 2008 financial crisis and its aftermath, it may not be too surprising if the 2016 election turns out to be a debate on capitalism. Phenomena such as income inequality and the thinning out of middle-income jobs have caused many Americans to wonder just what kind of capitalism they want to have

That debate didn't happen during the 2016 presidential election, but it surely will this time around in 2020.

So what do you think? Is it time for some Socialist policies in the land of the greedy?

Was watching a documentary on the history of Singapore. From the outside it appears to be a Capitalist state. But ask the average citizen and they will tell you it is anything but.

I thought capitalism was the spontaneous economic system, summarized as value based on supply and demand, that resulted from "democracy".

How then could true capitalism be directed by agreement? Wouldn't democracy be compromised if capitalism is controlled by non-economic factors?

YOUR opinion?

Or is a message board now simply a place to exchange links to other people's opinions? Not just that, you would not even extract that opinion for the benefit of others.

What utter intellectual laziness and cowardice!!!!

Socialism is still seen as a word of horror to many people, therefore any candidate that proposes anything that involves equal distribution of anything, is going to get skewered.
