First Test match win in only their second Test.
Only Australia has bettered that mark (They've equalled Pakistan and I think England).
Hopefully they'll get more opportunities to play going forward.

Well done Afghanistan!

But I am sad for Ireland. I will support this Irish team any day before I support the Afghan boys, I haven't been able to develop any affinity to Afghanistan yet.
In fact, Afghanistan will be the last team I will support.

It may be tough sledding for Ireland for a bit. No World Cup appearance to look forward to, most of their best and most established players are on the other side of 30 (or playing for England) and their Test schedule is quite limited at the moment. They get England in a one-off in late July.

Congrats! My new underdogs to support.
Q. Who is Afghan captain?
A. Afghan!!
In reply to goofballs
There's a story behind that one, that's interesting reading.
In reply to Tryangle
Not aware.

On choice of team, no worry, everybody's entitled to cheer for or against any team as they see fit. Heck I used to cheer a bit for India at one point. And I can think of one good reason to not cheer for Afghanistan as a cricket nation - no women's programme and no intentions to start one either.

Asghar Stanikzai legally changed his name as an act of patriotism. What a captain, eh.

WOW!
Proud and honorable people. At least the Pushtans/Pathans.
In reply to Tryangle
Thank god he isn't playing for WI...that would have read Asghar West Indies?

and you will be
Runout (of) Guyana!
In reply to goofballs
True...change it, Guyana Runout...
In reply to Tryangle
I didn't realise he was Stanikzai. Thanks for that.
Afgan is a team to watch, they are improving fast, I would not be surprise if they give Zimbabwe and the WI a tough time in Test matches on their home turf.
