i have a few friends who have incorporated companies and are lining up to migrate to Guyana when the oil starts to flow.
the companies are in the areas of corporate law, compliance, financial investigations, integrity legislation, intellectual property, international law, territorial and border dispute arbitration, construction, oil equipment providers and repairs, third party service providers, and investment persons.
one is a tour guide operator who has been in Guyana for that last 3 months learning the land for his brochures. his company will be providing guided tours into the interior for the foreigners who will be working in the oil business.
another is organising an upscale brothel business and already has sourced numerous Venezuelans for the roles
none are directly in the oil business as they say that is already covered by the big oil companies and the money is to be made in the secondary businesses.

Guyanese Beware the British are Coming
In reply to sudden
Man, you really are a nomad.
From Grenada to Bim, to the USA, back to Bim, now headed to Guyana.
Sekkle, man, sekkle!
Prince Charles and Camilla are in Bim
By "British" do you mean Bajan wannabe British?
The Brazilians already have the putaria (brothel) business locked down. They're even bringing in girls from the Dominican Republic to add some variety.
The last Guyana thing needs is more f*cking lawyers!
no i mean white brits. didnt Britain want to re establish a military base there recently? Britain desperately wants to re engage with its former colonies now that it is exiting Europe. and guyana has black gold.
we are coming Norm. we are coming.
re colonisation in unnuh skunt
Guyanese, like most Caribbean people, are almost eternally colonized, but they don't trust the British anymore. Having been free of British influence for over 50 years will make tolerance of the pompous Brits even more difficult.
The Brits will have to present themselves as a better option than the Americans, other Europeans and even the Indians and Chinese.
So, it will be tough for the Brits. Their pompousness will be their Achilles heel.
