In the latest rankings released on Sunday, the Windies remained ninth but gained four points to draw level with the Sri Lankans on 76.
Their points gain was the best in the tables and came following a 2-2 draw in the recent five-match one-day series against world number one England

Dem guys might think you and the Gleaner trying to score points for the Big IDIOT in the upcoming WICB presidential elections.

No no I have big issue with you calling Dave Cameron I am assuming, a Big IDIOT.

No just reporting the news of WI tying with Sri Lanka in ODI rankings. JA not too happy with Cameron and his selectors for allowing his own country men to languish and ostracized so long in WI test selection. Especially the humiliation of not playing Blackwood at Sabina Park in front of his home crowd. They might not forgive him for that but Yardies are a forgiving bunch at times, so lets see how the election will play out.
How 'valuable' are these points at the moment? Certainly with the World Cup around the corner and the next tournament's cutoff point miles ahead shuffling between 8th and 9th can't be too crucial at the moment, I would imagine?

Lol
On the flip side, I wonder how that team fares in the t20 rankings

The Big IDIOT doesn't get involved in team selection. The last time he tried was with the attempt to keep Shiv in the team to at least when he could be afforded some kind of meaningful farewell, however, the Big Pu$$y and other (more) influential individuals (like us on this messageboard) would have none of it.
Ok, let's forget the Little IDIOT fiasco for this discussion.
One more item...
Holding is the one to be blamed for the Blackwood omission. I recall him on live TV during the last WI tour of England repeating some hear say story of Blackwood responding to advice on his natural aggressiveness, from a former great, with "A suh me bat, man" (or something like that).
In reply to Drapsey
Understandably, assuming that story has any merits, how does that affect selector's decision, at a time when Blackwood's test average was higher than most on the team? Shouldn't selection decisions be based on performance on the field? I know if he was of another nationality he still might have been playing today. Cameron either have no power of influence or just didn't care enough about the only Jcan left on the test team. Either way his term has not serve JA well.
In reply to Slipfeeler and who from Jamaica should have been playing at the highest level.
In reply to natty_forever
They are currently playing on the test team, no discussion necessary.
Ok add Brendon King and all forgiven.
