How many of the senior/International players are members of WIPA?
This question was asked yesterday on the Mason and guest show to Wavell's deputy, it was not answered.
Listening to him, it seem like not only the T20 league players are not members, but also a number of the test players.

How can this be good?
Wavell being president of WIPA, should separate his relationship with Cameron.
I am not saying he should have an adversarial relationship, but it should be Arms length.
How can he keep the membership going, when even the test players, refuse to be members?

there are some 80-90 players contracted by CWI,I would think most of those are fringe players who would be grateful to the union for the chance to make a money.

Dude, you cannot play Robin Hood.
Wavell should had let the full membership voted, on what percentage of money that should be paid, to regional players.
He created the problem with the Indian tour.
His organization will continue to lose membership, and International players will soon get an agency to bargain for them.

I am not arguing about how we got where we are, I was responding to the assertion that he may not have membership support.
In this very Forum I was informed that
CAMERON ; WEHBY ; & HINDS ;
Are Members of the same Cricket Club
in Jamaica . Now if that is indeed
True , it explains why there is nary
a word about the Famous or Infamous ,
WEHBY REPORT , depending on One's Perspective ; that was commissioned
some years .
It will be interesting how many Votes
Cameron gets , despite the fact that
the Wehby Report is Invisible .
My take is that this Election will
demonstrate how many Voters in the
Elections are imbued with HONESTY & INTEGRITY .

Amusing..When it was time to defend Gayle, you did..Now it's time to defend Cameron!
In reply to Khaga
and Cameron did not defend Gayle! I am more concern about the truth here , because Cameron has been bad for Jamaica.

Hold on!
What were you saying here?
there are some 80-90 players contracted by CWI,I would think most of those are fringe players who would be grateful to the union for the chance to make a money.

It's called Caribbean cricket social welfare. 99.9% of the misfits are on welfare from CWI/WIPA with no appraisal system and not a chance of reaching the next level. Further, the supply chain for the social welfare system is broken. Anything goes.
In reply to Khaga
that was in reference to people implying that there is discontent in WIPA.
all the female players are members of WIPA

Wavell knew the International players are few and if he takes care of the Regional players his position is safe... There is no surprise the entire WIPA office bearers get elected unopposed...
Afterall the noise generally was that International players are being represented by WIPA and now that WIPA takes care of all the domestic players we should be happy... Our FC scores are the proof of the progress we are making
In reply to Pacy
Wavell should had worked out the percentage of payments, that would had been allocated with the senior players.
The young players on the International team, don't seem to trust WIPA, because very few of them are members.
In reply to openning
Not just young players, no player would trust once they understand you will do anything to be in power.
He should have struck a good deal for the seniors, stood with them during crisis and got made gradual improvements to the domestic players. Who would believe an organisation that decides to sack and disregard its managers and give a better pay for the line staff...
Credibility of WIPA is gone and with the recent reelection for 2 years, it would only get worse.
newdread can clear this all up. Come een Rasta

Newdread, unlike Wavell and Cameron, has an arms length relationship with certain discussions....
