It's a flare!

Flare machete as we know them back in the hills of western Jamaica.

Thieves with machetes held up a gas station, police say — then the clerk pulled a machete of his own

There was probably no way for the gas station clerk to know that the customer would be carrying a machete. And there was probably no way for the alleged robber to know as he walked through the door that the man he was about to demand money from also had a machete, squirreled away behind the counter.

But both of those things were true, according to Huntsville, Ala., police, who released surreal video of the alleged robbery this week.

These guys must be Yardies.

There's also the Gramma Hair (sp) and the Turnpoint, but the Flare was the favorite among the younger generation.

I can recall buying my own (brand new) Flare when I was about 14/15. My father was livid.
