Harbhajan to Kohli, out Caught by Jadeja!! Oh dear! This is a huge moment in the match. Virat-the-run-machine-Kohli has departed in single digits. It was a shorter delivery, Kohli rocks back and takes out the pull shot. He hits it straight to the Jadeja at deep mid-wicket and Jaddu is safe as a house

Kohli c Jadeja b Harbhajan 6(12)

Harbhajan to Moeen Ali, out Caught&Bowled!! This is a soft soft dismissal. I am afraid to say, it is not the ideal track for the opening match of the IPL. Harbhajan gives this one lots of air, it sticks in the wicket, comes slowly

Moeen Ali c and b Harbhajan 9(cool [6s-1]

AB de Villiers, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Harbhajan Singh to de Villiers, 2 runs, Tahir has dropped AB at deep square leg That would have been nail in coffin with Undertaker's music playing, but AB gets a life. Swept from leg-stump, gets a top edge, and Tahir makes a hash of it
7.2
W
Harbhajan Singh to de Villiers, OUT, you cannot deny Harbhajan today AB tries to sweep again, but doesn't get hold of it once again. The pitch is not one where you can rely on the ball coming on even a bit, and AB is too early, the top edge flies to midwicket this time. And Jadeja is the man there, he isn't going to drop any. even when he has to run in and dive forward. RCB in tatters
AB de Villiers c Jadeja b Harbhajan Singh 9 (10b 0x4 0x6) SR: 90.00

Harbhajan Singh to Hetmyer, OUT, oh what have you done Shimron Hetmyer? This was given some more air, Hetmyer came on the front foot and pushed to Raina at cover. For some unfathomable reason, he thought there was a run there and was halfway down the pitch. Raina reached the ball by then and flicked it to Dhoni. Hetmyer gave up the ghost and just stood there, watching the bails get whipped off.
SO Hetmyer run out (Raina/†Dhoni) 0 (2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

END OF OVER:8 | 3 Runs 2 Wkts | RCB: 39/4 | RR: 4.87

Imran Tahir to Dube, OUT,
S Dube c Watson b Imran Tahir 2 (5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 40.00

Imran Tahir to Dube, OUT, Dube departs cheaply, googly does the trick. Was a length ball around off and spinning away, Dube looks to steer it on the off side, gets an outside edge and Watson takes an easy catch around stomach height at first slip
Royal Challengers Bangalore
45/5 * (9.2/20 ov)

END OF OVER:10 | 4 Runs 1 Wkt | RCB: 49/5 | RR: 4.90

W
Jadeja to de Grandhomme, OUT, caught behind! A similar delivery, but a touch fuller this time, pitching around off, de Grandhomme comes forward to defend but it spins away sharply to take the outside edge, Dhoni makes no mistake
C de Grandhomme c †Dhoni b Jadeja 4 (6b 1x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

Royal Challengers Bangalore 51/6 * (10.4/20 ov)

Subas Bhattarai: "Confused what to do now. Stop supporting RCB or stop watching IPL ? But the problem is that cannot do either. Every time the same old story continued with RCB."

sgtdjones 2019-03-23 11:27:47

11.1
W
Imran Tahir to Saini, OUT, fuller around off, a googly again to beat the forward defence, an appeal for lbw but think it hit him outside the line of the off stump. Not out but Dhoni has decided to review it. Front foot is fine. Looks like there is some bat involved, an inside edge, replays confirm. But wait, Watson have taken the catch as well, so it's not lbw but caught behind
NA Saini c Watson b Imran Tahir 2 (3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

Royal Challengers Bangalore 53/7 * (11.3/20 ov)

gem from Bharath Seervi: Is it time to wonder about this stat? The only team to get bowled out for less than 100 in the first match of an IPL season was also RCB - 82 in the inaugural season in 2008.

Dem man can't mek 69?

sgtdjones 2019-03-23 11:42:47

13.4
W
Imran Tahir to Chahal, OUT, goes for the slog sweep, the idea was good as it was a googly but doesn't get the timing right and Harbhajan takes a neat catch pedalling backward at deep square leg
YS Chahal c Harbhajan Singh b Imran Tahir 4 (12b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

END OF OVER:14 | (wicket maiden) | RCB: 59/8 | RR: 4.21

Vishaul Ravi: "Parthiv Patel could be the first batsman in IPL history... don't think it's happened before..." -- Right, no one has carried his bat in IPL so far

Royal Challengers Bangalore 69/8 * (16/20 ov)

sgtdjones 2019-03-23 11:51:05

16.5
W
Jadeja to Yadav, OUT, Jadeja gets his line right finally, pitching on middle and spinning away, comes forward to defend and beats the bat to flatten the off stump
UT Yadav b Jadeja 1 (10b 0x4 0x6) SR: 10.00

17.1
W
Bravo to Patel, OUT, and he strikes first ball. Pathiv it is, so he doesn't become the first batsman to carry his bat in the IPL. Coming to the ball, it was short down the leg side, Parthiv goes for the pull but ends up hitting it straight to Jadeja at square leg
PA Patel c Jadhav b Bravo 29 (35b 2x4 0x6) SR: 82.85

Royal Challengers Bangalore70/10 * (17.1/20 ov)

It is a badly prepared pitch for the first game of the season.

Raghu ifmr: "Feel this pitch can be counter productive to CSK plans. Little bit on the slower side with little bit spin is fine, but a slow rank turner is actually not favorable for the style of stroke favoring batsmen they have. Except few muscle strikers like Watson and MSD, other batters rely more on free stroke play for their runs. Hope, they reassess the pitch for upcoming games before playing other spin reserved Opponents like KKR, KXIP or RR."

Harbhajan to Hetmyer, out Hetmyer Run Out!! Hetmyer departs for a duck and RCB are in a total mess in the Lion's den. Hetmyer taps it to the off-side and charges for a single, there was no response from Parthiv Patel and Hetmyer was stranded in the middle. Raina at cover comes quickly and hurls the ball to MS who knocks off the bails. Hetmyer was nowhere close to coming back.

Hetmyer run out (Raina/Dhoni) 0(2)

didn't watch it....good thing i left to go out as planned big grin
