How would you like to be putting on greens, with 15 on the stimpmeter?
You can also add the slopes on every green..

For US viewers... YES.

However, today is buckle down day for those who will make the CUT.

Then, Saturday is moving day so that they go into Sunday with a lil buffer cause you'll need it, as Carl0002 said... Jordan (or someone else in the top 5) bound to have a hiccup.
lol lol lol

Tiger has that look in his face again. The look that says I can pull off any clutch shot or bag any blonde within a 20 mile radius. big grin

Not sure what you’re getting at.

As for fast greens, I have an idea, I once played Bethpage Black shortly after the US open was played there. It feels like you’re putting on top of a table.

But I am not a professional, pros are supposed to adjust.

Tiger is playing well. He didn’t make too many unforced errors. With a little luck on a couple of putts, he could have been leading. Let’s see what happens tomorrow. Rain might have an effect on Sunday though.

SnoopDog 2019-04-13 01:11:49

In reply to Titleist

He missed a least 8 short putts for birdie in these 2 rounds, but he’s making everything outside 25 feet!

You’re spot on with the rain. I always like rain at majors since it tends to reward good ball striking and long iron play instead of the usual bomb and gougers.

Should be a cracking Sunday.

You are rigth about rainy/soft conditions benefiting good ball strikers. However, soft conditions mean slower greens. At this level there is a general preference for fast greens.

Sundays are usually must see TV for majors.

The Stimpmeter is a device used to measure the speed of a golf course putting green by applying a known force to a golf ball and measuring the distance traveled in feet.
I work at a private club every summer as a starter, every day I get the reading from the superintendent on the Speed of the green.
It is crazy at the club, on the Wednesday before a major, the green are all cut and role at noon, and the flags are place in crazy locations.

Some guy in Vegas put $85k on Tiger to win the Masters..hope he cashes in.

I know what a Stimpmeter is and what it measures. Generally, a reading of 9 or more, depending on the slope of the green, becomes difficult for amateurs to putt on. It’s rare for any course to measure 15.

I have attended one pro event 7 years ago at Bethpage and honestly, one is enough for me. All the super stars were there. But having to scoot over to every other fairway to see the players you want to see &/or follow and as a spectator, you're constantly running around. It's a given.

When I'm at a game, cricket, basketball, baseball, etc... the only time I [want to] get up from my seat is to get drinks, food, and visit the bathroom.

I play there often.
Same here. It's my "home" course. I work less than 14 minutes away and I've played 4 of the 5 courses, MULTIPLE TIMES. Yellow, blue, green, & red. I have not mustered up the courage to play BLACK as yet. wink wink wink

If I'm not mistaken, DT, & Tiger are 'friends' or at least they've played a few rounds together over the years.... so not surprising.

I usually go with a group and it’s fun since we all know the course. But I hear you about the crowds.

In one of the tournaments there we were on the fourth hole, Vijay Singh hit his second shot on the green that left him with a very long putt. As he is walking up to the green, one of the guys in the group yelled out “Vijay, it’s breaking right to left.” Vijay drained the putt, which did break right to left. The fella yelled out again “Vijay, I told you it’s breaking right to left”, Vijay turned around and smiled in acknowledgement. A memorable moment.
