All posters agree these 8 players Fah Cup

DIEHARD 2019-04-17 03:42:30

Every possible squad i see being selected has these players in common...most agree on XI players,

Gayle
Lewis
Hetmyer
Hope
Holder
Russell
Roach
Aljo

Most also agree on
Lil B
Cotterel
Paul

and then Pooran is also a poster favourite

The real disagreements seem to stem from the last three slots...maybe we should stop debating the first 8- 12 spots, and just post the final 3!!

I think those 12 have already selected themselves barring injury, i would be pretty shocked if any of those are not selected, except..maybe Pooran

Powell
Gabriel
Thomas
Samuels
Pollard
Nurse
Narine
Allen
Brathwaite
Powell
Simmons
Pierre
Chase

Then the real real long shots

Sammy
Dowrich
Cornwall
Ambris

Thats a lot of cricketers vying for just 3 slots...interesting times ahead..the suspense is killing mi!!!

Currently, Sammy's only talent is that of online showmanship. This descendant of Narcissus has given up cricket for showmanship.

His talent is done if there were ever talent. He won some championships as captain but mister can'h bat and can'h bowl..

He does not deserve to come back, so let's move forward please..

The following players were not even invited to Ireland. ...

Powell
Powell
Samuels
Simmons
Pierre
Sammy

So I think we can rule them out.

Maispwi 2019-04-17 11:07:25

Sammy is on record as saying dat he shud only be considered if he has a good showing in de CPL

CITYBOY 2019-04-17 11:19:18

Hola....I concur only with HOPE.. nowwe just have to find PRAYER..
Adios
CB

timeless99 2019-04-17 11:24:25

Joseph was not in the odi against England so how can he be a sure pick and unless Russell is not 95% fit he should not be pick

DIEHARD 2019-04-17 12:22:51

These names are just based on what posters have been doing.

I have actually seen one poster select Sammy.

It's preposterous but.. lol

Cornwall was not invited so safe to say not him either

He was grieving...

JamMack 2019-04-17 12:31:16

Al Jo just got injured. May prevent him from being selected.

First two names for bowlers should be Keemo Paul and the Soldier..

Those two gotta be the death over specialist.. Anytime Holder, Roach or Thomas gotta bowl at the end is worries for WI..

This would be my starting XI

1. Gayle
2. Lewis
3. Hope
4. Darren
5. Hety
6. Holder
7. Russell
8. Paul
9. Narine
10. Cottrell
11. Thomas

Why yuh so jokey..

You pick a squad of 15 for the WC, not 11.

Then from that squad they go in a camp and play practice and warms ups and gel together.

From that squad,, you pick the final 11 on match day based on form, fitness and fit.

Wot u talking?

I just looked at the various squads people posting.

A lot of names being thrown around.

Some not so sensible, some with no merit

Does West Indies cricket have a future after the world cup? Are your millionaire friends only interested in playing cricket for West Indies in the world cup? Are you and your genius friend Skerrit going to flip that Bill when your millionaire friends abandoned the next tour? Are you going to ignore the players who help you qualify and those who have signed your central contracts? How are these decisions going to affect those who have pledge full allegiance to West Indies cricket? Can you and Skerrit see past the next election?

Things to ponder

Many people pledge all kinds of things but have nothing to bring to the table!!
It is not about playing your obedient faithfuls or friends.

World Cup is for the true professional level skills, not babies.

You field the best. Period!

Rebuild for next world cup after that if the best showing signs of aging or whatever, like how most Superbowl and World Series winners operate.

Maximize and Optimize now.

Interesting point now being made.

Is it left up to the selectors to decide which direction they want to go in? Or are they guided by the board in terms of, short term or long term selection.

Are we trying to do our best to win the Cup?

Or are we looking at building a ODI team to rise in the rankings in the next 18- 30 months?

goofballs 2019-04-17 21:28:38

I am a bit dense. So pray tell me what in the above you see as baeck and call?

Fielding your best, not just your obedient followers and friends?

Let's just apply this to the Olympics.....edited in italics

Are we trying to do our best to win the Cup?

Or are we looking at building a ODI team "[/i]during the olympics[/i]" to rise in the rankings in the next 18- 30 months?

Since time immemorial, Guyanese and WIndians would have their best athlete/players represent them at the Olympics. Never mind they not living, never lived, in WIndies.
They were the best of their country in tennis, track and field, etc. and represent the Guyana or Jamaica flag.
The best are sent out to put our countries on the map!
That is what they call precedence.
They were not discriminated because they lived and played abroad, IPL or whatever.
They were not discriminated because they did not suck administration's lollipoops.

Why should we continue to be laffing stock to de whole world by ignoring our top dozen players or so, not on talent or proven performance.
New administration is here now. They should buck the trend of obedience being the criteria for everything.

Larr Pullo 2019-04-17 21:37:42

Anyone who naming a world cup team and Shane FACTING Dowrich not in it bounce their head hard!!!

My prayer is that your boyfriends get that world cup money so you can reap the benefits of that labor

goofballs 2019-04-17 22:18:42

The biggest "problem" with these guys is admit it or not, they are too good players.

Admit it, it is the typical world renowned WIndian pettiness, jealousy and propensity to undermine anything or anybody who is not their thing or their obedient home boy.
Even Lara, I noticed in the records, got lambasted by WIndian pseudo journalists when he broke the world record. World Record!!

Now, these guys are contributing a lot to WIndian cricket from the enormous taxation revenues that the WICB impose on them.
Yet they are persona non grata by the pseudo powers in WI cricket.

Bullcrap about IPL vs ODI. If you are good, you will be good in any format.

It is a bloody shame to see the best get wasted so, except for India, Pakistan, Australia local entertainment.

Why you have to confirm being a total ass by talking personally like a low life?

Speaking of jealousy, pettiness.....

Where is Bishoo?

goofballs 2019-04-18 13:05:41

Imagine if Lloyd, Kalli, Richards, Holding, Roberts et al were not allowed to play in the World Cup because of jealousy, pettiness, control issues and not being obedient to the ego maniacs running cricket at the time. OR for playing in county cricket in England. Same difference now with IPL but the Board at the time worked out a solution that was for the benefit of ALL, not just the ego maniacs

This has been a new all time low. Hopefully with new administration, some wrongs can be rectified going forward.

Our best who can walk in any side by sheer superiority of game that I know of at first blush

currently include

Gayle* (fitness)
Pollard
Dwayne Bravo
Narine*
Russell
maybe some more

Throw in your
Holder
Hope, Chase (my choice)
Lil Bravo
Keeper
Paul
a few pacers
and maybe a few players "to be named later" not important enough to be remembered or mentioned here but might crawl in the side. razz
Only spinner in WI is Narine by a mile (followed by Bishoo)..
Chase is a useful fella for ODIs too!

Disclaimer:I am not a selector nor pretend to be one.
Somebody should clap a law suit against the Board for blacklisting the best of the West (Indies).
Now I hear the newlly exed selectors bawling. lol lol lol lol
