We had our disagreements but we had a cordial relationship and shared platforms more than once.
Peace

Yes. And he lived to see Cameron removed from office. He saw the cancerous Cameron long long ago and he stood up against him.

RIP

RIP Pat. A new era has arisen in WI cricket and guys like Pat who had achieved in his own right before ascending to WI presidency will be a thing of the past. From now it will be bare small 'p' politicians. It took another politician to to beat the ultimate little politician Cameron and will take another to succeed Skerritt.

Same thing at BCA level. No more Stephen Alleynes or Marshalls, the guy that usurps the politician Conde will be another little politician who achieved nothing in his own right, but who has canvassed and promised his way to the chair. HOpe I am wrong but that is what is on the horizon.

Pat, like many of our past presidents had his flaws, but at least he came to the position having achieved something outside of cricket admin.

He was such a force of nature. Presided over an incredibly interesting time in WI cricket.

He left his mark.

RIP.

What did Rousseau do for West Indies cricket,he like Hunt,Hillaire,Skerritt and others were involved in West Indies cricket during the decline. This is not about what they achieved before, but what they did during their involvement.

I assume your question is genuine, but it beggars belief that you ask it.

When I have time..... shock

I was about to say the same thing. The SA debacle in 98 started as a pay dispute between the WI players( not Brian Lara) and the board about fees which were promised before the England series that year. Yes lara haneed the situation immaturely but Rousseau was the cause. As i said, I'm sad he died but to try and rose paint his tenure whicy resulted in an embarrassing resignation is highly irresponsible. Pat' S tenure was as bad as Cameron's. Pat published a protracted memoir in the Observer paper a few years ago and stated some serious falsehoods about that your which the Observer was forced to issue an apology to Lara for

Dude......i already said RIP. Surely though you must unsweet and any retrospective on his life will inevitably bring up his legacy in WI cricket which is far from positive. Just like any retrospective on day Hansie Cronje's li've will always bring up match fixing. Beside the question was asked what he did good for WI cricket and i was simply responding

Well that would be historically inaccurate - there have been several politicians who were WICB Board Presidents

maybe or maybe not, but it left a lasting legacy mainly

improved and expanded facilities

which enable us to host other events.

That's true.....Ken Gordon was a minister in the NAR government in Trinidad. But Ken Gordon was already a household name in Caribbean broadcasting before that. I meant really in behavior. Camacho and Stollmeyer we're dictators, Allan Rae was a saint, a man who kept WI on top through a lot of his own funds. I made a mistake. Penter Short and Clyde Walcott were also "politicians". Short campaigned for Marshall to be cappo when Supercat retired and Walcott offered the team £50 as remuneration........something that Lloyd said nearly moved(brought not moved...is not a good thing) him to years. And truth be told, Pat Rosseau was arrogant, but i never got the impression that he was a dishonest man or could face scrutiny. Jamaicans in general at the administrative level are very honest characters which is why Cameron's term was so odd

If you go through the list of WICBC Presidents from 1927, many were politicians. Can't bother to dig it up but I have a chart with all of them. I have it on a thumb drive as well - next week. I'm busy reading the Mueller report.
