POLICE from the Anti Kidnapping Unit and Southern Division have launched a manhunt after a Jamaican businessman was kidnapped on Sunday by gunmen dressed in police clothing.
Up to today, the whereabouts of Yohan Chin who lives at Monica Drive, Block Four in Palmiste, remain unknown. Police have detained one of Chin’s business partners, a 36-year-old pharmacy owner, in connection with the incident.
Police said Chin contacted the partner asking for $6 million from the sale of a parcel of land in Chaguanas intended for a business. The victim is also said to have asked for $400,000 and while no reason was given for the money, police said both requests may be ransom demands.
The report said at about 6.30 pm yesterday, the partner reported the incident to San Fernando CID. He said on Sunday shortly after 5 am, he first received a call from Chin who is in his 30s.

Drug link in Jamaican’s kidnapping
The well-orchestrated kidnapping of Jamaican businessman Yohan Chin is believed to be linked to the narcotic empires of slain Central businessman Sheldon Sukhdeo and another businessman in South Trinidad who sells luxury vehicles.
Some of these vehicles are believed to have been used to bring cocaine into T&T from Venezuela.
Sukhdeo, who was kidnapped and then found dead in Las Lomas last January, was the brother of slain Central car dealer Sheron Sukhdeo, known in the criminal underworld as World Boss. Sheron was killed on March 26 last year and following his murder over a dozen people were marked for death, forcing residents to live under a self-imposed curfew.
Sukhdeo’s wife Rachael went into hiding with her children. Her brother Phillip Bassant was later killed, along with close friend Joshua Plaza and her driver and confidante Kerwin Beckles, all within the space of six weeks.
Chin is still missing and police sources said yesterday they were now pursuing information that the kidnapping was orchestrated by the drug kingpins who are posing as legitimate luxury car dealers.

Update
A week later, kidnapped businessman still missing
KIDNAPPERS pretending to be police officers snatched a San Fernando businessman two Sundays ago, and have demanded a ransom of US$6 million for his return.
Yohan Chin was kidnapped from his home at Monica Drive, Palmiste.
Chin’s business partner and neighbour, a 36-year-old man, reported the kidnapping to police two days after it occurred.
He said Chin had instructed him not to go to the police.
The man has since been detained by police.

They weren't only East Indians,in fact the biggest and first Home to be raided was Simon Alexander owner of Industrial Supply Ltd,the others only came to soften the blow on Mr. Alexander and make it look like he wasn't a particular target,how ironic..
What about all the successful raids in the West with the drugs and prostitutes etc with houses in Westmoorings,Goodwood park and Glencoe,Fairways,Valsayn etc being searched and people arrested? So these didnt happen?

A senior minister's former stepdaughter is among four people arrested following a cocaine haul in Regents Gardens, Westmoorings.
In the past that bust wouldn't have happened for many reasons..
What more proof does the dirty minded need that these people are on a different level and things are really changing in T&T,it will take time to see the results,but if you are capable you can see the progress along the way,but they aren't,they're too consumed by their insecurities,bitterness and false entitlement.

Yeah that crossed my mind too,but in T&T those types of guys have signed transfer forms with copies of their IDs in their car file,with a lil middle man link for a small change and the car you can complete the process,the middle man who most times would be a man who usually registers cars for car companies etc and familiar at the licensing office would just push the papers and an officer would just confirm vin etc and sign off car at inspection bay,for a customer who's buying a new car or sum'n..
But this is drug business,he could've even kidnapped himself to escape something that's brewing..
