Walking or being in Beijing is a health hazard.
Most days the pollution hardly allows one to see anything.

Clearly Chinese cities are beating Uncle Sam cities which are flooded by homeless people on the streets, crime and pollution ( for example look up the nasty air in LA)

Not just Chinese, European citiea are filled with imaginative architectural buildings that really amaze.
No doubt about that.
To compare homelessness and smog though? All major cities suffer from such to varying degrees.
A cities geographical location does play a role in it's ability to rid itself of smog.

Yes, but in terms of the physical infrastructure and so too are all Asian Tiger countries- Malaysia, Signapore etc. And in addition the cities in the various Gulf Kingdoms are also of new physical infrastructure.
In Europe and the USA the physical infrastructure in all the large cities are old or aged, this is b/c of these cities were developed few hundred years ago.
NYC is rebuilding, this actually started 30 years ago and it will continue for another 30.
The important thing though isn't the newness of the physical infrastructure, but the quality of life for its citizens and US and Europe are still years ahead of China, the Tigers and the Gulf Kingdoms
BTW, Indian cities are quickly coming up as well.

most European structures are from a time when financing was done differently ,when despots seek to create legacy, modern real estate financing don't allow all that nonfunctional extravagance.

Quality of life yuh say? China has taken out 800 million people out of poverty in a very short time and will continue to take out more, America could never do this and still they have a lot of poor black people in their land of free and brave country.
