In reply to Str8_Drive
Ashley forking Nurse!! Lol I'm DEAD!!!
good to see carlos on the team
In reply to Str8_Drive
Isn't that Browne's team?
Lol lol lol
Big loud stewps KMT New panel same squad Angel is the only real addition ...
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Yuh beat me to it Fuzzy. They could have saved some money by keeping the old panel
same team as expected
Jimmy says no changes to the squad unless injury.
Good team
In reply to navindesigns
He better tek dis chance and make it count when called upon
Robert, Guyana is not an island
Russell assured dem he will be fit for WC
Keemmo Paul's omission is a surprise.
Gabriel replaces Aljo
Once you are playing regional cricket and international cricket you are eligible for selection. I hope that by international cricket Haynes is referring to international T20 leagues and not playing for WI
Good squad I have a little problem with Carlos and a big problem with Ashley Nurse. Time will tell.
In reply to Headley
Who would you have picked instead of Carlos and Nurse?
In reply to DIEHARD
In reply to positiveg
the pressure is on him and i think he knows that
Is Keemo hurt?
Narines said he would love to play for WI ......BUT
Narine has an injured finger and not capable of bowling 10 overs
I like Narine's answer why he nah play
In reply to Headley
Fabian Allen as well. He is good for T20, but I don't see what he has done to maintain an ODI selection.
Cornwall, Keemo Paul and anybody else and this team would have been stronger.
In reply to navindesigns
he better lol
In reply to DIEHARD
still cussing Browne, the selection of players seem to the same.
In reply to Narper
Wasn't that a stupid answer by the chief selector? Russell is currently actively involved in in playing cricket so how can he give such an advance assurance?
I would think that would be determined by medicals all players have to undertake ....
In reply to positiveg
Narine's middle finger unable to bend..always staying up!
In reply to Walco
Um done arready
In reply to DIEHARD
hoss.......fatboy nurse is as bad a pick as if cornwall was picked. Nurse as useful as bishoo and as fit as dwayne leverock. Carlos cant make the first team of any side he plays for save barbados and patriots. he must be a really good kiss up
In reply to Khaga
The finger bends to the max when grabbing dem IPL checks ....
In reply to tc1
Boss it looks like Pollard is being victimized by another selection panel ... and Big Bravo too.
Notable Omissions
Narine
Bishoo
Paul
John Campbell
Simmons
Pollard
In reply to Khaga
Another bullshit excuse from Narine. Bottom line is that he knows he will be called for pelting if he bowls again in international cricket ...
In reply to Str8_Drive
Only omission i want there is Keemo, he should be there.
Squad:
1.Jason Holder (c),
2.Andre Russell,
3.Ashley Nurse,
4.Carlos Brathwaite,
5.Chris Gayle,
6.Darren Bravo,
7.Evin Lewis,
8.Fabian Allen,
9.Kemar Roach,
10. Nicholas Pooran,
11. Oshane Thomas,
12.Shai Hope,
13. Shannon Gabriel,
14. Sheldon Cottrell,
15. Shimron Hetmyer
In reply to Walco
What is more disappointing is that the IPL is condoning this shyte ....
In reply to Walco
Paul for Nurse anyday. I like Carlos so it's not a major issue. Three or four wickets and a good 50 could solve my Carlos problem.
Ashley 'Fattas' Nurse! is he the skipper 'little' night nurse?
In reply to Walco
I made the same point to you last week, but was unable to follow up to your question as I was travelling.
Haynes'selections are identical to Browne, yet he (browne)was cussed as having selected his hommies, guess what Haynes selected Browne's hommies.
the mop will blame reifer and holder
In reply to Raggs
No, he is Jimmy Adams
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Bad day for the whiners (Tits) of WI, none of their superstars were selected.
In reply to tc1
Not quite. Maybe Keemo Paul would have still been there. Mistake to exclude him in my book. Curious to see who will bowl the death overs in this line up.
In reply to Headley
Agreed..I had Carlos in my inital squad before i was made to believe Big Bravo and Pollard were likely to be selected, and i thought the squad could benefit from their experince and skills.
And then i was torn between Powell and Carlos. No complaints here for me re Carlos.
Carlos earned his call up in that ODI tour, it should have been Paul over Nurse for me.
So they went with Thomas, Gabriel, Nurse and Carlos over Paul, Pollard, Bravo and Powell, I can live with Thomas and Carlos ....not sold on Gabriel..Nurse..makes me sick to my stomach
In reply to DIEHARD
The last series, Nurse was not quite fit but seeiing him perform locally in the last couple of weeks, I'm sure he will surprise a lot of you when he performs in the World Cup...watch and see
In reply to DIEHARD
That make absolutely no sense.
Paul vs Holder, Carlos or Russell, would had been, a better comparison.
You select teams, base on position, not fitting names into a slot, for namesake.
In reply to Khaga
Was he attempting to give the Selectors and CWI the middle finger salute instead of mooning them?
In reply to openning
They needed an offie and a leggie, but since Bishoo is not in form they went with the left arm spinner that could bat a bit in Allen.
In reply to Headley
I am a huge Paul fan, but he would have to replace Carlos in that squad. We will need spinners in England, especially if Angel plays. Otherwise Holder will have to sit out a few games for slow over rate
In reply to Bestian
The majority of the squad played against England, a few months ago, so I have no problem with the team selected
In reply to openning
Agreed....So why did we need to hastily change the selectors again?
In reply to Kay unless injuries in the past were planned.
In reply to Bestian
Nurse is never fit bro
In reply to Bestian
Browne had to go, too many fans had problems with his selections.
In reply to openning
Yet the new selectors followed the same blueprint.
In reply to openning
Bishoo and Campbell are the only ones to miss out.
Neither really impressed against England in the ODI series.
In reply to Str8_Drive
No spin starting XI
Gayle
Lewis
Bravo
Hope
Hetmeyer
Pooran
Holder
Russel
Roach
Cotterel
Gabriel
In reply to Bestian
The selecting panel had very little time, to make wholesale changes to the team.
Brathwaite performance against England, got him selected ahead of Paul.
The spinners that is giving Nurse a run are Cornwall and Pierre.
Neither of them played International ODI cricket, as far as I know.
In reply to WIForever
Too early to say no spinner.
Depends on the weather in Nottingham on May 31.
If it's overcast or drizzling, then I will agree with you.
If it's sunny one of Nurse or Allen should play.
In reply to WIForever
The previous selection panel would often go with Nurse over Pooran...the fact Nurse is even selected makes me think that will continue, with the long tail
Russel at 6 followed by Holder, Nurse, and then Roach Cotterel and Gabriel
In reply to DIEHARD
This is not a test series, I cannot see Russell, Holder, Roach, Cottterel and Gabriel in any playing X1.
In reply to anthonyp Feel the same way.
Don't worry about Nurse and others who you all think shouldn't be there,we have 2 of the best match winners in our team in Russell and Gayle,so DON'T BLOODY WORRY,the Soljaboy can also cause early damage to opposition opening batsmen and is no mug later in the innings with the old ball.
In reply to Khaga
In reply to Walco
Huh? Didn't big bravo retire?
I dont have a problem with nurse being there as I cant see who would be better than him apart from Narine.
I would have gone with paul over Braithwaite but in the end it might be six of one and half dozen of the other.
Sorry to see the Icon missing!!
In reply to Kay
What is more disappointing is that the IPL is condoning this shyte ....
onli sport dis ya happens eh..moons ago dem fi ban crook elbow...
In reply to gvenkat
Dem seh dem contact all players and all ah dem were available, even Sammy
In reply to openning
Some of y'all just post cos unu have internet!!!!
It's against the rules of the game for Holder, Paul, Carlos AND Russell to be in the squad?
They could play all 4 if they wanted of leave one on the bench or none at all.
After you pick your XI the 4 left can be anything, so, explain again why Paul could not be the man on the bench instead of Nurse, of even in the XI instead of Nurse?
Based on your feelings
The selectors told u how many " all rounders" they planned on picking?
The squad has to have more than one spinner?
I don't understand your statement
I have no problem with this team, one of the most fairly selected in a while! Keemo not competing with Nurse but Holder, Carlos and Andre. He young and would mek the next WC!
In reply to openning
The Last ODI against England all XI did not bat, but the listed line up was ,starting at 6:
Holder
Brathwaite
Nurse
Bishoo
Cotterel
Thomas
Now..seeing that Bishoo is not there,..if they turn up on the morning of the match and see heavy cloud cover, do you select Allen just so you can say you playing two spinners? Or do you unleash pace like fya on dem skunt!!!
In reply to WestDem
It is that crazy to y'all that he could also play in the same XI instead of Nurse, take his place in the last ODI XI put on the park by WI?
Allen replacing Bishoo from that line up, for me it is actually the better line up, only play one spinner, Allen and replace Nurse with Paul
In reply to Str8_Drive
Apart from Gayle, Lewis and Russell, batting maybe challenging for WI, we really needed the experience of Big Bravo, Pollard and bowler Narine, they could make a wealth of difference.
I don't see Russell being able to bowl a ful quota of 10 overs, so we'll need the extra bowler/allrounder.
In reply to Seechy
Russell will bat 6, a and give a few overs.
The bowling will come from 7-11
