Carlos Braithwaite....this UWI connection stinks

davo 2019-04-25 00:27:16

If we already have to put up with unheralded & inexperienced UWI coach, for this World Cup, the underachieving UWI team captain, who couldn’t get the ball off the square or buy a wicket against England, Bangladesh etc, for the most part, is chosen ahead of Kemo Paul, the exact opposite in form, potential & age. Already the holder of a five-for in ODIs from a handful of games, with a brilliant IPL debut, & who impressed every English man a few months ago, is made to twiddle his thumbs this summer. When we thought cabalism was behind us following Cameron’s ouster, it seems the UWI version is imminent. This shocking selection was immediately followed up by hints that the planned West Indies academy could be at UWI. As old people say in Guyana “Run from de jumbie & butt up wid de coffin”.

Is the same politics among other factors, that brought WI cricket to its knees, over the years. We will remain there if this continues.

Recklessness galore.

As many of you know I think Keemo Paul will be a very successful cricketer in all 3 formats of the game.
I,however am not upset at all about his omission, because I KNOW he will be in the team for a very long time. He is 21 years old and we will look back on this as a meaningless blip in his career, rather like when Lloyd was omitted from the team touring England in 1966.Who was the player that was selected in front of Lloyd? Somebody who ended up never playing test cricket!!!!!!!!

To Keemo fans

LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED BECAUSE JOY COMETH IN THE MORNING!!!!!!

P.S Joy is a hottie!!!!!!!!

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

We don't have to go back six decades to find examples of selectors getting it monumentally wrong.

An example of more recent vintage was when Chris Gayle was left out of the 2000 tour of Australia, ostensibly, as Chairman of Selectors Mike Findlay said at the time, "he just was good enough", or something close.

And the player chosen as the only recognised opener selected for that tour?

The Great Darren Ganga!!

Nuff said!

Selectors cannot see into the future.

Missing an opportunity to play on the world stage against every team in a World Cup is a meaningless blip? shock shock shock

OTOH, this could've been the catapult to bigger and better things in his young career, but oh well.....

Like Narps... I hope he ends up going to this WC.
