I believe eating just about everything in moderation is ideal. Minimize processed foods as much as possible and drink plenty of good water. All these other esoteric diets and extreme eating habits are just plain extra.

so you guys are ok with the government regulation diet? Like DS said everything in moderation. Dickblasio was against the soft drink ban when he was running for office, but now that hes in..a different story!!

Really? I knew it can be controlled but I didn't know can be cured.

And I thought the NYC proposed ban on hot dogs was because of the name.

With dogs having been promoted to the level (or even above) of human beings, a name change would be welcomed, even celebrated.

It can not be cured, because if you go back to your old eating habits it will return. It can be put into remission.
I spoke at a recent Symposium in Guyana on Nutrition and Type 2 Diabetes where I discussed this in detail to over 150 Medical Practitioners.

It's a shithole because you live there.

I didn't eat dogs for about 10 years.

This started when I had a project working for Sara Lee and their Kahn's hot dog brand, and visited their plant in Cincinnati, OH.

As the pigs for the slaughter were being guided from the transportation to the assembly line, the wailing was unbearable. Some even tried making their escape and had to be chased all the way to the Ohio river. Continuing the tour of the facility after witnessing the carnage, our next stop was the cafeteria, and guess what. Some of the same people working on the assembly line were partaking of nothing other than the 'fresh' dogs.

Yike!

Well if it isn't everyone's favourite face for a punching bag who shows up for his weekly kick in the teeth.

Did you just say you don't eat hotdogs because the pigs are killed and the plant workers eat the hotdogs?

What? For a minute there I thought you were going to say they don't, that would be much more damning.

I love a hotdog once in a while.

Ayenmol 2019-04-27 12:13:25

Btw, pigs are very intelligent and have good memories...they know they are headed to slaughter.

Just a fact.

I. Knew someone that worked at a place where they processed chickens, she said that she will never eat chickens again because of what she saw. It's the same thing with cows, if most Americans saw how cows were slaughtered, they would not eat beef.

Hot dogs and sausage making (as the saying goes) are very messy.

That constant smell from all that burning flesh had negative effect on my hot dog appetite.

Strange enough, my first taste of a hot dog after the earlier experience occurred in a somewhat similar environment.

Another project, this time for ConAgra Foods at their Armour Swift Eckrich facility in Quincy, Michigan. Excepting for the slaughter which took place elsewhere, we watched the whole process, from 'cooking' through packaging. At the end of the assembly line the shift forewoman threw each of us a pack for sampling, and for the sake of 'fitting in' I actually tasted one.

That's when I learned about the combo-bin.
