7.40pm Big-hitters like Russell and Pollard coming in too late in the innings, slow-scoring batsmen playing through middle overs. Are IPL sides still too conservative and emotional with their decision-making? Our latest Talking T20 episode feat. Sanjay Manjrekar is here

Quinton de Kock: "A five-day break can be a good thing. We did lose the last game after playing a lot of cricket, so a break was needed. Good time to shut down, get away from the game and recuperate. The last time we got together in Mumbai, it was a massive occasion, a lot of yellow. So I'm sure there will be a big crowd tonight."

7.17pm The broadcasters say MS Dhoni is down with fever and won't play tonight. Does that mean Chennai's unbeaten streak at the Chepauk this season will come to an end?

happy to see Lewis playing....

No pressure... a lil 40 from 30 would be a good start for him.....

when these guys haven't played in a real game for long... they tend to go out and lash a 4 and a 6 and out off 3 balls..... hope that's not the case here.

7.30pm Toss - Suresh Raina to captain for CSK. CSK opt to bowl.

Raina: "wicket looks the same like the last game. Dew could be a factor, so just need to chase well later on. I think we have done well as a batting unit, need to chip in and do the processes right. Dhoni and Jaddu are not well. Three changes: Santner, Dhruv Shorey and Murali Vijay are in. Faf is also out.

Rohit: "we would've chased as well. Chasing isn't easy here, but dew does make it slightly easier. Need to post a good score and try to defend it. The first half of the tourament was a bit of up and down, towards the back end we know what we exactly need to do. Another day for us to present a good performance. Coming here and playing good cricket here is always challenging." Evin Lewis and Anukul Roy are in, instead of Cutting and Markande

sgtdjones 2019-04-26 14:24:28

Aditya Saxena: "Is age finally catching up with Dhoni? The milk-drinking pantheon might still be the most thinking cricketer on the planet but is his body finally acting his age?" --- He's only 37 and it's just a fever!

Game on

0.1

Chahar to Sharma, FOUR runs, thick outside edge to a full outswinger wide outside off. Feet rooted a tad, reaches out and opens the face late to get it past point

Chahar to Lewis, FOUR, edged and four! Streaky
4.2
Chahar to Lewis, FOUR, Lewis has controlled that shot brilliantly and it will fetch him four. It was a slower down the leg-side, Lewis picks it up early, waits for it to arrive, gets on top of it and half-pulls it wide of fine leg for a boundary

natty_forever 2019-04-26 15:05:43

Harbhajan Singh to Lewis, no run, big turn to go past the outside edge. Lovely line. Just outside off, dipping at a length. The ball he bowled to get Narine earlier this season if you remember. Lewis looks to defend, isn't close as it rises as well. Oh hang on! Replays show there was an edge on that! None of the CSK players noticed.

Narper 2019-04-26 15:27:05

8.5
Tahir to Lewis, FOUR, and again.. But not as well timed as the previous one. Flighted on a fullish length, Lewis lofts it straight back over Tahir and the ball bounces just inside the rope before beating the long-on fielder
8.4
Tahir to Lewis, SIX, smashed! Tahir errs by landing it in the arc and Lewis sends it straight back over him. Overpitched and the extension of the arms is enough to take it all the way over the boundary rope

Narper 2019-04-26 15:29:07

MUMBAI 99/1 (12.0) CRR: 8.25

Rohit 49(34)

Dwayne Bravo 2-0-12-0

solidrock 2019-04-26 15:31:26

Lewis seemed out of touch. Needs a lot more knocks before WC

Narper 2019-04-26 15:31:35

12.1
Santner to Lewis, out Caught by Dwayne Bravo!! Taken! That ball was in the air for quite some time but Bravo was calm and composed to gobble it up. Lewis had to go after the left-arm spinner, he heaves it with all his might towards deep mid-wicket, but got more air time than distance.

Lewis c Dwayne Bravo b Santner 32(30) [4s-3 6s-1]

Narper 2019-04-26 15:36:50

12.4
Santner to Rohit, 1 run, fifty for Rohit. First of the season and first in a long time. His last fifty also came against Chennai last year. He is set now and got the milestone out of the way, needs to launch to get Mumbai to a good total. He eases it wide of cover and calls for the single, there was a bit of confusion but they get it easily in the end

Rohit 50*(37

Harsha Bhogle: Strange as it may seem, it's been 17 innings since Rohit has had a half century. MI are scoring at 7.8 but remember on a similar surface 175 wasn't enough for the Sunrisers.

Narper 2019-04-26 15:37:06

13.1
Tahir to Krunal Pandya, out Caught by Santner!! Tahir returns, Tahir strikes. Krunal was sent to counter the left-arm spinner and the leg-spinner but he perishes while doing so. Flighted around off-stump, Krunal kneels down and slog sweeps, he didn't get it anywhere close to the middle and ends up offering a sitter to Santner at deep mid-wicket.

Krunal Pandya c Santner b Tahir 1(3)

Jury: "The only place where I hear about "spirit of game" is Cricket. There are multiple other sports where teams just exploit loop holes to win. For instance in NFL the QB asks for the snap before the defense is set to draw a penalty. I believe sports is more than talent, it is also about coming up with right tactics and strategy to win and using the rules and situation to their advantage. "
Amen!

That said, it was good to see Lewis getting a knock....

He still has some technical issues to sort out, though.

So, Pollard can only make runs when he is captaining.

18.3 4 Chahar to Pollard, FOUR runs, length ball just outside off, and Pollard drags a pulled shot behind square to the fine leg boundary! Not a convincing shot, but Pollard won't mind it at this stage

Ahhh, there you go Polly!

Malinga to Bravo, OUT, caught and bowled! Slower ball, length on middle, and Bravo's leg-side clip takes a leading edge. Ball flies over Malinga's head, but he manages to run back towards the bowler's stumps, and takes a sharp catch from over his shoulder. No celebration from Malinga, but Pollard does a fist pump.

Polly comes in to bat with an average of 32 balls per game . Then he must slog and get quick runs.

Pollard's best scores (83 v Kings XI and 46 not out v Sunrisers) this season have come when he's entered within the first 12 overs of the innings.

Yet he has taken his team to win games.

Vinod Rajpal: "53 runs in 18 balls - Russell or Pollard Required "
