...our cricket value. The CWI can now look forward to more money in the kitty if the scheduling is right.
Very well bowled, very well bowled by the new President and the wider CWI.
Prepare for the bountiful harvests.

The new selection policy will significantly enhance...

I heard Haynes describe the new selection policy the other day but he confused me when he referenced playing international cricket. Is the new policy that players are eligible to play for the West Indies if they are playing T20 cricket anywhere in the world while our domestic leagues are being played?
In reply to Walco
I think the focus is to have them playing in our domestic competitions when there are no major fast foods on offer. The balancing act and the test even, is to get them committed to play for West Indies for international duty even when it clashes with styrofoam plates and paper cups. If CWI cannot get that commitment from them, then CWI would have sold itself short with the new policy.
Early days yet.

Judging from the team selected for the WC it appears that CWI not jumping into that new selection policy pool head first ...

I say candidly that with new dispensation comes renewed commitment.

I think that they have jumped in head first. Remember that their key policy is that cricketing matters be the prime basis for selection.
How wud Bravo, Sammy, or Pollard be selected then when they have not played ODIs for several years and in the case of Bravo and Pollard, their last venture into the List A format was underwhelming at best.
Sammy himself put it best when he said that he cudn see himself being selected for this WC but if he performed in de CPL wud not turn down a call for the T20 team.
De comparison with the Packer men is a red herring. First of all they were playing the same format and secondly dey had won the previous version of the WC that was being played. The same cannot be said this time around

Playing the same format is key. I cannot see CWI selecting someone not named Chris Gayle or Andre Russell to play ODIs or Test cricket based upon performances in T20 leagues.
Jumping in head first to me would have been Bravo, Pollard and Simmons in the WC squad.
