Westmoreland.

Crime is much worse under dis administration - PERIOD. What's more is that they have no plan whatsoever.

So very sad to hear. My friend is from Hanover and i have enjoyed the time spent there visiting with her Mom and Brothers.

Jamaica has had more than 1000 murders per year for more than 2 decades now, obviously political biases make some murder figures more palatable than others

Thought St James was part of the new SOE as well.

So crime is only worse, if its not your party in power.

Maybe they should use the methods of the PNP that were more successful.

Walco 2019-04-30 18:41:36

He said the SOE shall remain in place for 14 days in the first instance. After that it needs a two-thirds majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, for it to be extended for three months at a time.

My understanding is that the PNP withdrew support for the last SOE because there were numerous apprehensions and detentions but few criminal charges. The PNP specifically opposed the part of the SOE that allowed for detentions for extended periods without the detained person seeing a judge and/or being charged.

Yep St James too.
The PNP was correct - we need a crime plan not the violation of the Constitution.

Crime is not a political issue until those who know better do better the criminals win

Successful????? What exactly was successful because last I remember Bunting was crying for divine intervention when there was a 20% spike in murders under his watch.

1000 Jamaicans murdered in a year can never be considered a success.

And education is supposed to free us yet here we are.

Free us??? How are you freed when you are discriminated against because of your class and creed??

Dog paw went to one of the top high schools in Jamaica yet he led one of the the most vicious gangs in Jamaica.

Ask any youth down a TG or Rema or Tawes Pen or GP or Red Square or Common or Granville how many subjects they have and you would be surprised how many have 5, 6 and 7 subjects.

Fascinating thread. Crime/murder as seen through a PNP, JLP and non-partisan perspective.

BTW You all have yellow tail snapper in Guyana? lol

Jamstar 2019-05-01 12:37:33

I now see that the PNP has endorsed the SOE.

There is hope yet, maybe now all parties can sit down and come up with a plan that actually works instead of playing political football with crime.

My 1500 murders a year where better than your 1500 murders a year naah really work.

My point exactly. And it becomes even more apparent when professors at the pinnacle of education make posts...
