So Cricket West Indies has agreed to postpone

Chrissy 2019-05-01 12:10:51

the Indian tour to the Caribbean to the peak hurricane season.

Good luck with that.

We have to go all out to satisfy BCCI needs, as we continue to compensate for that infamous abandoned tour.

So it doesn't matter how ridiculous the 'plan' sounds, it is providing a service.

In reply to Jumpstart … you always have a choice, jus have to deal with the consequence of one choice over the other.

another indian tour...another set of circumstances.

mikesiva 2019-05-01 18:19:38

August you must. Remember that rhyme? Allen struck in August while Gilbert struck in September.

Doesn't matter. Hardly anybody will turn up for these Test matches anyway.

going to europe then....cricket is dead in the WI(the result of a generation only knowing defeat and disaster) and it will take holder's team to rekindle the interest. I live in TT and we're in the middle of a severe drought.........and nobody is playing cricket(except school matches). Seriously.....its really disturbing

When Allen reached Category 5 intensity on August 5, it became the earliest Category 5 storm ever recorded.

Hurricane season tends to be more in September and October rather than August methinks.

That is exactly the peak of the Hurricane season, as of the last four years it's late Sept through to Oct you've been seeing more named storms etc.
Especially right here in the Hurricane belt as I liek to call here the Eastern Caribbean.

the matches have to be played, whether they get rained out or not only Mother Nature knows.
We all know we still playing for the folly of the failed Indian tour. Hopefully after this we done pay off we debts.

they wrote it off

Nothing to worry about if the matches will be played in Trinidad and Guyana smile

Seriously though, CWI has no leverage when it comes to scheduling a series against India. It's scheduled for when India is available.

Kay 2019-05-01 22:51:46

In reply to Walco

Maybe they didn't give India the hurricane schedule to browse before they decide on dates …. smile

tc1 2019-05-02 01:03:06

The argument a couple of week ago was that England dictate where they will play, india is doing the same.

Dukes methonks it STARTS in June. Aug,Sep,Oct is when they most frequently come in rapid succession and then slink off in November.

Chrissy 2019-05-02 09:43:42

In reply to Scar

The scientifically agreed peak season is between late August and the first two weeks of September.
Idiots will be idiots.

Drapsey 2019-05-02 10:08:14

Ok Chrissy, just for payback, we'll insist that our next tour of India be scheduled for the middle of the Monsoon.

That'll teach them!

Or maybe the bookies got involved in the scheduling. Perhaps the Icon was consulted on the new dates. big grin
