Were the rest of the team clueless also, or you expect more from this youngster?

He had about two deliveries to negotiate from Tahir.
Then attack a pace bowler or someone else from the other end who isn't spinning/moving the ball both ways.

I don't care about the rest of the team in the hut while I'm at the wicket taking guard...

I put myself in his shoes and that's how I would approach the game... he's young so he will learn if he wants to get better... same for Hety....

It shows your personal character and inner-strength to fight and get a good individual score rather than just go down without a fight and say... it happened to everyone else so it's ok if it happens to me.......

that's an easy cop-out....

Remember... higher standards for all Guyanese... got to be able to think at a higher level than you Bajans and everyone else....... razz razz razz razz razz

Is this format not swinging to the fence?
I hope someone can analyze the scoreboard for me, because the youngster face four balls, coming to the wicket with his team at 83/6, with 9.4 overs and remaining and 93 runs needed.

10 overs remaining? That’s a lifetime in T20 cricket

No wonder you think kraigg brathwaite is special

I can see why this team was bowled out for 99 runs.
They were all thinking like you and what's a lifetime in T20.

Maybe you could explain why your barbados team was bowled out for 76 in the first innings in the 2019 regional 4 day competition against Guyana

The Pride should not had batted first at Providence Stadium, with an inexperienced team.
It could also be pay back for bowling Guyana out, for less than 70 runs a few years earlier.
Just my take

Indeed, however, unless you came in during the 18th over... there is no excuse to take a couple deliveries to find your groove.

Have you paid attention to ANY decent batsman when they start their innings in T20? Sure they bat faster, but they also don't lash from ball 1 like a madman... there are exceptions, but that's not 'normal.'

I hope someone can analyze the scoreboard for me, because the youngster face four balls, coming to the wicket with his team at 83/6, with 9.4 overs and remaining and 93 runs needed.

Bannuh... you can't seriously be arguing that the innings is halfway and every batsman, therefore, should just swing for the fence like no tomorrow.

There is no need to go on an all out, outrageous, defense for the young lad... mistakes will be made... but at least give your best efforts when at the crease and try to keep a calm head.

Easier said than done... but still... he's a pro now.

hey, hey... KB IS special... he plays TESTs and is an anchor at the top of the batting order... that works perfect for his role in that form of the game....

Ganga wishes he had the patience of KB..... wink wink wink

I am going only by my take on watching T20 cricket and looking at the number of balls received by Pant and Shaw, two Indian international players.
I understand your comment on the youngster, because he is a West Indian player, had he connected like Carlos three sixes, your comments would had been different.
T20 cricket is going for the fence, with batsman batting, 5-11.
BTW, do you know what he was told to do?

It is all Bishoo's fault. If he had practiced these guys with the googly then they would have been prepared to deal with Tahir. See...saw! lol lol lol

sure it would've been. up to today, 3 years later, carlos cannot even connect as a fluke anymore.wink

sure. still doesn't mean lash like a lunatic.

do you? You CANNOT tell me out like a dunce is better than trying to get your eyes in then go for broke....10 overs left..... not 10 balls.... sheesh!

Have you been listening to KP's commentary? A batsman who knows a thing or 2 about batting.....

He just said... 6 overs left... Pollard needs to come in... take 5 to 10 deliveries to get his eyes in... then pretty much go for broke....

KP on Hardik & Pollard...
'Once or twice you can get-off by starting to go nuts from ball-1, but you need to get your eyes in FIRST.' 5 to 10 deliveries.....

Pollard is batting with a batsman that has been batting for more than ten overs, all he need to do, is give de Kock the strike, KP don't have to educate me, it is just common sense.

KA Pollard c Abhishek Sharma b Ahmed 10 (9b 0x4 1x6) SR: 111.11

Is Pollard batting clueless?

Didn't see his innings and his approach and intent... I had higher priorities at the time. LUNCH and a brisk walk outside.

But looking at the scorecard, it seems Polly came in around the 16th over.... BIG DIFFERENCE than when it the 10th over.... so I would say, no... he had to go for it at that time....

NEXT QUESTION.....
