I have had two reports of trouble accessing the site from a AT&T mobile network.
Last week I moved servers which gave it a new IP address. It seems that AT&T (and possibly others) have cached the old IP address and are not respecting the time-to-live.
May be related to this
Anyway, for now I can only wait it out, but if it's still giving trouble by the weekend I may have to figure something else out.

Site problems from mobile network
Ah ha... i think i found the problem, it was my fault :-(
Updated IPV4 address, but neglected to update IPV6, which mobile networks seem to use. Should be good in an hour or two.

My Verizon phone didnt get me in either --- but come to think of it I was at BMW getting my car serviced today and I got in on their free WiFi but then when I came home CC.com was gone again
Well , about an hour ago it was the
first time that I was able to
get in this Site ; I am with A.T.T .
In reply to POINT
FIOS has been fine thru all dis crisis.
Interesting - When I'm home on whatever German shite provider I use, I can only get in through Edge; Chrome and Firefox are no go with 503 errors being presented.
When I'm on the "other" network, it's mostly been fine.

Larr, sprichst du Deutsch?
Importantly, the site will NOT load if a user does not use https:
links like: will not load
http://www.caribbeancricket.com
this will load:
https://www.caribbeancricket.com
SO for some of you having the site not load (even after the changes above) remember to use https (for your own good)

I was getting an error message every time I tried to access the site. I couldn't tell if it was a problem with the site or the internet provider.

Ah, thanks, I need to turn redirects on.
And there's still a problem with IPV6... i have DNS set but I need to configure NGINX to serve it. At lunch I will RTFM.

You need to send out a mass email to your patrons letting them know the issues you are having.
If you are not setup for emailing your contributors, maybe you should work on that.
It can be rough trying to figure if it's your equipment or not. I've never had issues for more than a couple days.
This has been going on since at least Sunday.
In reply to Arawak
Yup!
No problem boss.

You are like a tick in the hepatic flexure. Too far to reach, yet irksome and annoying.
Do you REALLY think admin/wakie needs your TECH advice????
Man go pray about it.
In reply to pelon
Tech advice? Dude, if you want to make this into some pissing contest go ahead.
You sound like some groupie! The man acknowledges you and all of a sudden you attacking me.
I think most people would be happy to know what's going on.
Where was your advice when all these people were stuck for days?
In reply to Narper
Time to do a census to see if anyone jumped off the waterfalls?

Was away, didn't realize the site bruk dong.

Most people did not have a clue...till I posted to Arawak on Tuesday. There is no way to contact anyone outside the site unless you know them personally.
I think, since this is a business, it would be prudent to give people a way to contact the Admin outside the confines of CC.com and for Admin to reach all in one swoop.
I hardly go to the rum shop and had no idea that he was about to perform maintenance on Saturday.
I did not realize that there was a fundamental issue till I noticed that while I could not get on from multiple sources there was one connection that gave access.
That could have been communicated to Arawak since Sunday if there was another way to reach him.

Thank you Sir! Seems like its working now!
it's good when I can't get on...time to actually do some work

On the phone browser URL type:https://caribbeancricket.com
(problem is your cache for the site is using http version, manually type above and let me know...)
Let me know if that will work. It should.
Wackie is on the case though.
In reply to pelon
The site has been running with an SSL cert for sometime now...at least a year. Besides even with the https some are still getting the 503 error. The URL displayed is https://caribbeancricket.com. If you type https://www.caribbeancricket.com, the site loads fine.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Yes boss... what YOU are missing, is that many users bookmarks are http://www.caribbeancricket.com, which will NOW FAIL!
https://caribbeancricket.com. If you typehttps://www.caribbeancricket.com, the site loads fine.
http://caribbeancricket.com. If you typehttp://www.caribbeancricket.com loaded fine until LAST SUNDAY and WAKIE is now working on the force redirect.
You are missing the point that OLD bookmarks are failing... and why.
ANYTHING without the "S" in https will not redirect... and THAT is being worked on OK boss...
In reply to pelon
I'm telling you MY personal experience.https://www.caribbeancricket.com was failing in Chrome and Firefox, but working in Edge. When it failed with the 503 error, the displayed URL was "https://caribbeancricket.com" it dropped the www. If I retyped the www it would then load the site.
Edge worked fine with or without the www, I did not test in edge with plain http.
A few times my security even alerted on the ssl cert as if it was not valid.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Got you star.
good feed back for wackie. all related to the same core matter, which he is working on.
In reply to goofballs
I had an hour to kill at my dentist earlier. With great difficulty I was able to type the https&*%&@# tingy and it worked!!
As much as many things are hard to crack or penetrate the first time, it was smooth sailing afterwards. Didn't even have to type in anything, it just opened up smoothly for me every time I went in afterwards.
Sorry guys, I had a few final tweaks to do to get everything working. I think it's all covered now. Thanks for those who emailed and PM problem reports, and posted details here.
I think the final missing part to make the HTTP->HTTPS redirect work was that the firewall had port 80 blocked by default.
Hopefully all is good now.
Until next server move, in another 5 years

funny enough...had the same light bulb moment a few days ago.
