Shahid Afridi 5 years older than records show

Narper 2019-05-02 16:53:37

Afridi writes that he was born in 1975. Though he doesn't give a month or day, that makes him, potentially, five years older than what he is: official records, including ESPNcricinfo's player profile pages record his date of birth as March 1, 1980.

Afridi debuted in an ODI tri-series tournament in Nairobi, and, most famously, hit a 37-ball hundred the first time he batted in international cricket. That record stood for over 17 years and was even more outrageous for the fact that it had been achieved by a 16-year-old. Except, now we know, he wasn't.

Boom Boom Afridi

Rashid Khan was born in 1998 in Nangarhar, eastern Afghanistan.[13] He hails from Jalalabad, and has ten siblings.[14] When he was still young, his family fled the Afghan war and lived in Pakistan for "a few years".[14] They later returned to Afghanistan, resuming their normal life and Rashid continued his schooling.[14] Rashid grew up playing cricket with his brothers and idolised Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi, from whom he stylised his bowling action

big grin big grin big grin big grin

Most of us knew all along Afridi was older than his stated age when he first started in international cricket....but he did age well...and in his later playing days did not look his 'real' age

Now we see Rashid Khan...this guys is NOT 20 years old....he is more like 30 years old
