One minute after the race finished the Google Result said "Maximum Security".
One hour later "Country House".

Message here:
1. Don't go by initial reports.
2. Don't give up on bad starters. When they do come, usually it is with a big bang. 65-1.

Got a call from my boy one hour before Derby making me realize it was today. With quick analysis, two stood out. #20 who missed all previous starts at the gate but once rallied from far back to nearly catch up with the class.

The #21 Virgin who almost caught up with one of the big shot horse in this race some time back and barely missed breaking her maiden then. Had a great, competitive start today but didn't buss de maiden at 70-1. Would have been a double jackpot!!

Um...did you all watch the race?

OR even seen a highlight?

Maximum security did win. Then 15 minutes later disqualified for obstruction.

It will forever be known as the first DQ at the Kentucky derby!

I guess some of us see things differently or just don't know what we are talking about.
A blatant foul cutting across about three lanes nearly killing #1 who had the momentum to beat him, was about to press him for the lead. #18 was also coming for him but was slowed down significantly by #1 being pushed out nearly on to him.
#1 had this race imho, followed by #18.With #20, they would have gang tackled the fouler and horses do crumble under challenge especially the pace setter who tends to tire more than others.

Anyhow, enough of my opinion.
Fact is as above. #7 nearly killed #1, slowed down #18 also and $20 who was affected a little bit only benefited from the fowl.
Are you one of those who don't care about the method use, just the bottom line that the hoss finished ahead of the others?

My only fear was that the stewards would be chicken scared to upset Ayenmol and Ray, not want to cause waves especially from the sour losers. Actually, the pomp and glamor of the Derby shouldn't be tarnished per the purists.

If you come out and make a horse lose stride, it is a foul.

Horrible decision, obviously they did not consider the terrible weather and it’s effects on the track.

Hexcuses for an illegal act without knowing the rules
Ok, don't listen to my opinion, Brian Lara and Viv (you guys poojay them two) of Racing in one, Jerry Bailey, among others says it is illegal, nearly killed the others

Anatomy of a FOWL

Was actually 20 ish. razz

Did it occur to you that they were doing due diligence, interviewing the jockeys, watching replays over and over to make sure they didn't err in front of the whole world?

If it was a less important race #7 would have been DQed afte 3 mins.

Am not sure why you are addressing me with your attack.

All I did was mention why the Google was late in updating, because the decision was long in coming. Fact.

Also, Maximum Security did cross first, disqualification or not.

I also agree with the commies assessment that Maximum Security was the fastest horse.

Your opinion that the horse would have faded down the stretch is baseless because obstruction or not it did not fade.

Was there obstruction? Of course! Pretty blatant.

But the horse that I thought was the threat, the silvery brown one that almost clipped maximum security was the only horse that evidently got put off it's stride and was the only one I thought that looked strong enough to compete.

The one that ended up being adjudged the roses was not severely hampered and did not challenge Maximum security!

So yes the horse deserved to be disqualified.

But it rings hollow because the damage was done anyway!

Thank goodness this was not a tragedy.

Not sure how the Airbus people feel about this, but I blame the pilot, err I mean jockey!
