It looks so bloody cold that when they break for drinks, do you thing Hope and Campbell are going to have a hot cup of tea?
If it's anything like London now, it is damn chilly....
No ball above waist height...Campbell slaps it for six!
Hope clips it to fine leg for four....
And through the offside for another one!

John Campbell's first 50 in any form of international cricket.
I really like the way Campbell and Hope are playing taking no unnecessary risk while keeping the score ticking over nicely.
Any links (other than the bbc one)? Cheers
In reply to JoeGrine
Campbell's half-century came up off 56 balls...and then celebrates by trying to get out playing the reverse sweep to the spinner.
In reply to cricketmad
Agreed and their running between the wicket is admirable.
Nice to see Campbell in the runs. Positive guy. Cant help wondering if we did not make a mistake leaving him out given Evan Lewis's poor form of late. Campbell would also have been useful as an offspinner. Would have allowed to take a chance on playing Allen instead of Nurse or even no specialist spinner at all

This is Campbell's chance to state his case for when the finalised squad is decided later this month....
Lovely shot by Hope for four through extra cover!
Campbell getting leg stretches for cramp. It's not often that he's reached the 60s....
In reply to mikesiva
I am impressed with the level of maturity and confidence shown by both openers especially Hope.
The wintry conditions dont seem to be affecting the batsmen.
150/0 up for West Indies.

Let's go guys. Double ton up literally
Selfish batting this. Can't let Dockrell go for 1 in an over when you're 0/200 off 33. Just cos you want a century.
Another wonderful hundred by Hope. Well done.
In reply to solidrock
A lovely way to bring up your century!
Down the ground past the bowler....
In reply to mikesiva
Mike you won by a wisker .
A really nice knock for 100 by Campbell
In reply to mikesiva
Yes
In reply to cricketmad
Love the way Shai congratulated Campbell....
Then a slog soon as he gets his 100. Hmmm
34.5
Murtagh to Shai Hope, FOUR, ton for Shai Hope! Fifth ODI hundred for Shai Hope. And believe me many more to come. He is one of the most exciting cricketers in World Cricket and certainly a one to watchout for in the upcoming World Cup! It was a fuller length delivery on the stumps, Shai Hope plunges forward and nails the straight bat. It raced to the fence in a blink of an eye. He raised his bat to celebrate his ton!
In reply to mental_case
The vibes was great, then came you !
35.1
Dockrell to John Campbell, 1 run, maiden ODI hundred for John Campbell! Whatta moment in the career of the young man! First time in the history of West Indies cricket that both openers have scored a hundred! Records are being ripped aprt by John Campbell and Shai Hope. It was on the stumps and John Campbell knocks it down to long-on to replicate his partner

Like seeing selfish cricket do you? Hate seeing blokes bat for 100's

This is so obvious. I wonder why you asked why?
In reply to Courtesy
This is a proper odi. Most of the middle order isn't even in the world cup team.
So yes, why?
In reply to brians_da_best
Again, it is obvious why a batsman retires out.
In reply to Courtesy
And how many retire out in proper odis? I'd wager, probably no one
In reply to brians_da_best
Are you new to cricket?
In reply to Narper
Big six by Campbell!

No, are you?
In reply to brians_da_best

Mark Adair to John Campbell, 1 run, in the air and taken. But it is a free-hit! It was a yorker on the stumps, John Campbell wanted to smash this over the stands, fails to get under it and ends up hitting it straight to long-off

McCarthy to Shai Hope, out Caught by Lorcan Tucker!! It took close to 280 balls to get the first breakthrough. But the second one has come just 2 balls later. It was a short of length delivery and was wide of off, Shai Hope pulls it straight into the hands of deep mid-wicket who makes no mistake. A high-quality innings from a high-quality batsman comes to an end. He is certainly a star in making in international cricket!
Shai Hope c Lorcan Tucker b McCarthy 170(152) [4s-22 6s-2]
47.2
McCarthy to John Campbell, out Caught by Porterfield!! Finally, a wicket! And the Irish crowd celebrate! They appreciate the effort of John Campbell too who has been truly sensational today. One of the better ODI hundreds you would ever watch! It's been a memorable day for John Campbell, not sure he is gonna forget this his entire life. It was a back of a length delivery and was wide of off, John Campbell swings his willow hard. It hit the top-half of the bat and popped up in the air, Porterfield came charging from sweeper cover and takes a very good catch.
John Campbell c Porterfield b McCarthy 179(137) [4s-15 6s-6]
In reply to mikesiva
Remember this?
1999-2000 New Zealand v West Indies - 1st Test - Hamilton WI 276-0 and lost the test match by 9 wickets
49.6
Mark Adair to Holder, out Caught by Kevin O Brien!! In the air and taken! It was hit pretty cleanly by Holder but not the requisite power behind it and Kevin O Brien makes no mistake at long-off. It was in the slot for Holder but he fails to get under it and ends
Holder c Kevin O Brien b Mark Adair 1(6)
WI 381/3 (50.0) CRR: 7.62
And he have also become the only opening pair to score 150-each in one innings.
Well, Campbell could have been run-out on the first ball of the innings but the cover fielder failed to smash the stumps at the non striker's end.
Shai Hope - He did a bit more than me, we both enjoyed batting together. I have no idea (about becoming the first WI openers to score a hundred each).

Cottrell to Lorcan Tucker, out Lbw!! Cottrell joins the party too. It is looking very sorry for the home side. It was a good length delivery and was on the stumps, Lorcan Tucker wanted to work it to the on-side. He failed to get any bat to it and

I will wager any bet that West Indies will have to rent a place for Ashley Nurse and Angel Gabriel to hide before the end of the World Cup.

They will be in hiding very early before I can come to their rescue. If I had to make that decision on whether they should be playing or not, it would be very easy.
Any other two bowlers would do.

Joshua Little b Nurse 0(2)
34.2
Nurse to McCarthy, out Stumped!! That's the end of McCarthy - came down the track, Nurse cleverly dragged his length back on this off-break - went straight on and McCarthy was playing for the turn, beaten on the inside edge and Shai Hope has an easy job to do - whips the bails with elan and Ireland have lost their ninth wicket.
