AlJo Surgery and recovery being covered by MI

Nice gesture

The damage not only ruled the player out of the rest of the IPL season but also out of the upcoming ICC World Cup. Despite the bowler not taking part in the rest of the tournament, the club is willing to foot the entire recuperation bill.

now that is pure class

"He has been in Mumbai throughout and his situation was assessed, and the surgery was done on April 30. He is currently recovering and has no movement on the shoulder as it is strapped. One of his family members is here to stay by his side. All his treatment and rehab will be taken care of by MI. He will be shifting to the MI guest house in Navi Mumbai and continue physiotherapy for the next two to three months at the Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital,” a source familiar with the situation told IANS.

"After this, he will undergo rehab and hit the ground at the Mumbai Indians academy. It should ideally take around four to five months and even his family member shall stay with him during this phase.”

Well done Mumbai Indians..

Delhi Capitals sent a personal trainer to work with Keemo couple weeks before the IPL dem man value their assets.. no wonder most of these guys choosing IPL instead of WI

That is how a real professional sports organization operates! Kudos to Mumbai Indians! Wishing Aljo a speedy recovery!

This is not new

KKR did the same for Narine and more

Contrast this sort of treatment with that of the Former WICBPA now CWIPA where players used to pay their own way to get to match venues and wait months for reimbursement., pay their own medical bills which were incurred while on duty for West Indies, etc

And then people does bawl traitor, mercenary, greedy etc when they decide to fulfill their signed contracts with foreign teams.

Hmm this is quite worrying. I suspect he will lose some pace and that is not good

Most likely he will lose some pace.. Roach had minor shoulder surgery and look how much pace he lost..

Really hope it doesn't affect him too much.. youth got serious potential

Pace is not dependent on shoulder alone. There are several more important factors.

Secondly if he has a proper rehabilitation there should be no problem with his shoulder within the next 12 months following.

Hypocrites. I hope by now allyuh understand why Archer pledge his allegiance to England cricket.

He got hurt in the West Indies, Cricket West Indies and Barbados told this Under 19 player, you are on your own.

Archer went to England with his friend and the county league nurse him back to health because they saw in him a future bowler.

What would you have done if you were in Archer's shoes?

No one should be annoyed when our player ply their trade elsewhere... Their other employers see them as valued assets and take care of them. Now who would you work for.. Us fans can be very shortsighted.

What's the purpose of the hop before the delivery stride and the purpose of the left arm, the rotation of the torso etc. you cannot generate pace from just the shoulder alone. whoever did his rehab did not do a good job rehabilitating the motor coordination of the necessary movement patterns needed for bowling.

Some folks will talk to you about mechanics, which may include joint mechanics. With surgery, the joint mechanics is interrupted and subsequent muscle coordination. Not every rehab specialists address scar tissue. I could keep going bud but you may not get it.

Interesting TheTrail has this perspective now

That wasn’t the case when it came to the ones he labeled greedy, mercenary etc

Better late than never I guess

Isn't that covered by insurance and part of their contracts?

Atl_View 2019-05-11 02:22:32

This should not go into a negative conversation. Plain a and simple. MI has the financial strength to take of this.Prior to this I did not see anyone ( Civilian, This Site, CWI o r any Gov't) attempted to step up. In fact we were ready to send this young man off to the once in the limelight graveyard. Please let us be less "Caribbean Pride" and accept any help. While we are on it can we have some of that oil money from the mudland for our beloved sport?
