RIP.
Did not think he was that old.(still young to be cut short)
Was on Tv also for cricket analysis with the Asian tv network.

Yep. After the telephone thing he started the radio station then moved to TV.
I met him once at the CHUM FM summer festival....

Yeah, the man was dedicated to cricket. I rem calling his phone (starphone) for cricket scores back in those days, B4 cricinfo...
At one time he launch a cricket radio station, that was devoted to cricket, where U had to get a special radio that accesses that frequency to receive the station. Of course, the asians started producing the radios like mad and his station flopped.
I helped him out with adds to promote the station during the launch.
A real genuine man.
Rest in peace champ.
RIP. He was a real community stalwart. Used to write cricket and other sports stories for Contrast

R.I.P Fitzroy Gordon.
I remember Star Phone being the only source for cricket fans in the GTA before cricinfo.
In reply to SnoopDog
He did a great service back then..
Toronto Star would cover it sometimes under "other sport"
Of course, I knew of him, but with not those details, being not of Toronto.
I read of his death on The Star Online.
RIP, thy good and faithful servant.
For Casper and myself...

I still have my radio, he inserted a short wave component into it...lovely man did a lot for the community.
Yup. For a while he was the only source of cricket info and scores. There was a shortwave radio he used to sell that would pick up various cricket stations around the world.
Rest in peace.
