Guyana .....‘Atlantic Train 1’s future uncertain in T&T

AS it celebrates its 20th year in operation, there is uncertainty about the future of Atlantic LNG Train 1, which received a 20-year tax holiday when it began operations in 1999. Energy sources even suggesting that the liquefaction facility could be mothballed like the Petrotrin refinery and the ArcelorMittal iron and steel facility.

An Atlantic spokesman told the Express yesterday: “There is uncertainty around the supply of natural gas to Train 1 after 2019,” revealing that this was one of the messages that had been disclosed at a town-hall meeting hosted by the Point Fortin-based facility.

received a 20-year tax holiday when it began operations in 1999.

The T&T taxpayers paid for it but BP and Shell shareholders own it , not the citizens of T&T.

An certain Citizens of T&T are called Energy Czars.

They will find more gas when they get more tax concessions
after the 2019 year.

Probe ‘an indictment on no one’
$300m contract to Novo Technologies...

THE Government’s decision to order a probe into the award of a $300-million contract by the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) to Novo Technologies Incorporated is not an indictment of Minister of Works Rohan Sinanan, who has portfolio responsibility for AATT.

So said Minister of National Security Stuart Young, as he responded to an urgent question from Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal in the House of Representatives yesterday.
