I thought this was worldcup preparation and Carlos is a member of the squad and not rifer. Probably this is the end of carlos. Something seriously wrong here

none of them are members of the squad........Nobody knew when their respective franchises would be knocked out of the ipl so they weren't picked. Also apparently the bcci does not like countries pulling their players from the tournament early. Only england and australia were able to do it because they are financially well off. The CSA president wanted some of the SA players home early for the CWC and was virtually threatened

Rabada is supposed to be injured. He left de IPL early as a result of back problems. De Kok and Faf featured in de finals.

Bangladesh most likely only gave Shakib a partial NOC

… because we know what Carlos can do.

Boult and Kane played in the IPL playoffs.. both missed the practice matches against Australia

Carlos has been in Ireland since Saturday, so he could have played. If Carlos could be there then so could all the other IPL players barring Lewis.

The WICB management should have planned for that contingency. Clearly, this tournament is not being used as a warm up for the World cup.

The World Cup is within weeks so would it not be better getting the 15 acclimatized and match ready? Again what has Carlos done? since you know what he can do. He averages 14.4 with the bat with a s/r of 83.86. His bowla ave is 43.61

I would think that this ODI series provides our players with the opportunity to adapt to conditions in this part of the world. But the only batsmen in the World Cup squad who are getting batting practice are Bravo, Hope and Holder. How much rest do the IPL players need?

The England IPL players are currently playing an ODI series against Pakistan. Moeen, Stokes and Bairstow are getting used to playing in English conditions once more in today's match. Carlos is currently in Ireland, so he could be doing the same.

Where are the other IPL players? Did they follow suit and travel to Ireland? Or are they back in the Caribbean?

Ideally, based on what I've seen of the matches in Ireland, I'd like to see Ambris and Campbell coming in for Allen and Bravo. Will that happen? I'm not confident that it will....

So, we may go into our only two practice matches in Bristol with the following players having played their last matches in India - Gayle, Lewis, Pooran, Thomas, Hetmyer and Russell. That doesn't sound like sensible planning to me.
