Ambris hoping to give selectors something to think about
DUBLIN, Ireland After scoring his maiden One Day International (ODI) century, Sunil Ambris is hoping to remain on the minds of West Indies selectors going forward.
Ambris stroked a superb 148 on Saturday at the top of the order to lead the Windies to a commanding five-wicket victory over Ireland in the Tri-Nations Series tournament, which also features Bangladesh.
The visitors second win in three outings has virtually assured them of a spot in the final.
Despite not being named in the West Indies 15-man squad for the ICC World Cup which bowls off at the end of the month, Ambris said he believes his historical knock should keep him in good stead.
That performance should basically keep my name there and let the selectors know that Im still playing and Im still scoring runs. As a professional cricketer, I always have to work hard so thats what Im going to continue doing, Ambris said.

Ambris needs to understand that Players from the Windward Islands
generally have a lot better than Players from other Countries in the
Region .
HE therefore has to be a lot better
than other Players in the Region .
This is simply one of the factors of
like in West Indies Cricket .
Ambris needs to examine the Cricket careers of Ian Neverson ; Garnet Niles ; Irvine Shillingford ; Michael Findlay ; and realize that
HE has to work 3 times as much as other Players to cement his place in
West Indies Cricket .
This is precisely why I have stated
that he needs to buy a Bowling machine and use it every freaking
day . It is that freaking Simple .
Players from other Countries have
Godfathers , Players in the Windward Islands aint got any Godfathers .
Ambris needs to look no further than
the Cricket Career of the "Invisible
Man " Kenroy Peters .

Think of it as your tangible contribution to windward islands player development.

I SERIOUS LIKE A HEART ATTACK!!!!!!
If you are to consider Ambris what position will you play him? As far as I see he isn't an opener.
He continues to be among the runs in time he will fit right back into the team, but after the WC
In reply to InHindsight
I would bat Ambris at 4 or 5
In reply to Baje
Correct. Once gayle goes, I'll turn Hope into the permanent opener, like Rohit for India. Unless you have Campbell and Lewis carrying their game to higher heights.
