Lawyers allege that Tigers The Woods destroyed evidence
Tiger calls death a terrible ending.
In reply to Casper
Not Tigers fault, parents must understand their son is responsible for his own actions. Just a money grab by the parents.
In reply to maj
There are laws in place for this.
A drunk person cannot think clearly..the business establishment has a civil and judicial responsibility according to the law.

Dude this topic is something I worked around for more than 25 years.
This has nothing to do with a parent, it is not letting a patron drive, if you feel he had too much to drink.
In order to get a job in the service industry here in Alberta, you much be train in Alcohol prevention.
One area that I was always worry about was Vicarious liability

what does this have to do with the restaurant?
In reply to methodic
An owner and his staff can be liable for serving a patron too much booze, which resulted in an accident
If you come to a bar or restaurant here in Calgary, and the server think you had drank too much, they will ask you for your keys.
Failure to give them your keys, the police will be call
We have had similar accidents here which resulted in the family suing, and winning.

But wasnt this guy a trained bartender himself who wouldve known the law???
In reply to StumpCam
Um...the bartender represents the restaurant.
The Restaurant is liable for the bartender's actions.
I worked at a Hotel in Banquets where all the patrons usually stay at the Hotel.
I was not a bartender, yet we all received the training!
In reply to StumpCam
Knowing the law is not the problem
allowing him to drive, after leaving the premises drunk, is the liability of the Restaurant owner and his serving staff, including the restaurant manager.
I know about the liabilities establishments face when serving liquor to those who are inebriated. My point is he knows he was a drunk why work in a bar.
In reply to openning
When I worked in Banquets it was not even about the accident..you could lose your alcohol license just for overserving.
In reply to StumpCam
I spent 40 years here in the hospitality industry, with 30 years in management, this incident is something I am aware of.
In reply to Ayenmol
I've fired a number of servers over the years, for not following the pro serve standards, after having three discipline warnings.
In reply to maj
Who told you he was a drunk?
I am 140 lbs, it take about three drinks, ounce and half pours, to get my blood alcohol over the limit, in an hour.
In reply to openning
It's scary stuff...alot of bartenders take their future in their hands when they serve, much less overserve...you just never know.
There are some municipalities where you can lose your freedom for a fatal crash where you served.
In reply to Ayenmol
My best friend lose his licence twice for drunk driving, the first time we were going to a Sparrow concert, he never should, because he was in police custody
I've spoken to him for over 40 years, he still will not listen
My wife is my driver, whenever we are out

why does Tiger need a restaurant?
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
Yeah...and the doorman, and the shoe shiner...what else?
In reply to openning
Tiger, like he cyaan ketch a break
In reply to openning
He was 3 times over the limit and he was an Alcoholic, the parents stated that Tiger knew this but still gave him liquor.
In reply to StumpCam
We all know the law, some of us still drink over the limit and want to drive.
It is up to the people that serve him, to get his keys.
The worst culprits are lawyers who knows the law, and want to argue with you.

T
Can you show me, where it stated Tiger was with hime that night?
Who to say Tiger did not get him a Cab the nights he was drinking with him?
BTW, most establishments provide cab slips for employees after functions
The reason Tiger is being sued is, he own the Restaurant, his girlfriend is manager, so even though she did not serve him, she is responsible for her staff service.

I never said Tiger was with him, his money grubbing lawyer and parents did.
Like I said blood money.
In reply to maj
Tiger and his girl friend are not the first to be sued for incidents such as this, and will not be the last.
Lets hope he left Tiger's restaurant sober, and finish the evening at another bar.
In reply to openning
Yep. I just believe in personal responsibility. You cant create legislation to protect people from themselves.
In reply to maj
What?
In reply to Ayenmol
Corrected..lol!!
In reply to maj
I agree with you here
In reply to Casper
the alcohol server test is very comprehensive and hard in ontario.. There are signs to watch for and when to notify management and police...the establishment holds some responsibility for overserving.
