Shai is now in the top 5
In reply to Sangfroid
Watch out Kohli , Shai is gunning for that position.
I am really curious to see how he will fare at the WC when he faces the top teams...
By the end of the world cup we want to see you #1. Well done
For me the jury is still out on Shai.
I need to see him perform against genuine pace and he will get the chance in the WC.
In today's (May 22) match he was out Aussie pacer. Looked rushed.
In reply to hotarobin
hasn't he already faced India and England???? aren't those the top two teams??
Watch out Kohli my big toe. It is good to see him anongst the runs but that Strike Rate is rubbish.
In reply to hawk
Sorry I didn't know that he faced India and England at the WC already....
In reply to hotarobin
one does not need to be at a world cup to face top teams chances are it will be one game against them hit or miss
what you need to do is hope he has a good world cup in general
Apart from Scar, everyone on this tread is living in cuckoo land!!!!!
PHEW
Some people on these thread are hypocrites..as west Indians we should be proud of our players and their achievements and rep for them more..win/lose/draw I will rep windies always and back our players so go shai hope..hope he reaches no 1 because he certainly is capable of that.
Shai and Kohli in the same sentence...chalk and cheese.

Keep going well Shai

Thanks for telling me what I need to do. My life now has meaning...
As long as Shai continues to play against Ireland, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, he will surpass Kohli in no time.
6 centuries already in ODI cricket.
3 against Bangladesh, 1 against Zimbabwe, 1 against Ireland, 1 against India.
He has never faced Australia or South Africa.
He averages 28+ against England, 36 against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and 8 against New Zealand.

Good Morning, Devin!

Good morning, sir.

When Kohli makes centuries off west indies is that the same as Shai vs Zimbabwe?
So will you discount those too?
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Statistically, Shai scoring a century against Zim is a better output, because Zim and West Indies are more evenly matched.
India v West Indies is comparable to a heavyweight matched up against flyweight.
In his warped mind, Devin sees the current West Indies as Goliath. He has a "lucky and the giants" mentality.
Were there any weak teams the West Indies batsmen feasted on during the 70s to 80s? And part of the 90s?
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
There was a time many many years ago when i used to proudly tell people how intelligent and well spoken West Indians were when it came to discussing cricket.
I would actually abstain from involving myself in cricket discussions with people from other parts of the world because when i listened to them for a few seconds, I knew that they didn't have a clue what they were talking about. And i also knew that I would only be wasting my time by educating them.
After spending some time on this message board, i quickly realized that West Indians are no different. They are just as dumb. You see, in life, when you lack logic, rationale, and objectivity, it is very easy to come across as being stupid.
There are nine major cricket playing nations, we will exclude India because obviously Virat Kohli cannot play against his own team. That leaves 8 teams.
Virat Kohli averages 50+ against 6 of those 8 teams. He averages 44.48 against England, and 45.90 against Pakistan. Those are his two lowest averages against the major cricket playing nations.
His next lowest average is 50.60 against Zimbabwe.
It would be hard to skew Kohli's figures seeing that he's batted 219 times in ODI cricket.
Hope, on the other hand, has only batted 50 times in ODI cricket. His best performances have come against Bangladesh, Ireland, Zimbabwe, and India, in that order.
If the roles were reversed, you all would be quick to make the same observations.

The West Indies can win this World Cup. They are a very dangerous team. A team loaded with big hitters and genuinely quick bowlers.
In reply to TheTrail
Yes, LGRowe debuted with a double ton against the Kiwis in the 70s. Jack Alabaster, the only Kiwi bowler of note, was then close to taking up residence in his arm-chair.
I think Kalli also part-took of the same feast.
In reply to Devin
Why have you deliberately misrepresented Fuzzy's post.
Here it s again:
So will you discount those too?
The question in the post is straight forward and relates to a specific point.
In reply to Devin
What is your fixation and fascination with West Indies cricket or what is the relationship between your post above and the subject matter of this thread?
Start your own thread if you wish to take a swipe at West Indies or render your tongue in cheek comments.
We all know you were born in India.
In reply to Courtesy
Am i discounting anything or am i pointing out that 5 out of his 6 centuries have come against Bangladesh, Ireland, and Zimbabwe.
How is that the same as Kohli scoring runs against West Indies? What is the relevance of the comparison? West Indies have actually had some good bowling attacks over the years. Far better than Zimbabwe.
West Indies vs Zimbabwe is not the equivalent of India vs West Indies.
In reply to Devin
I agree, but I'd like to know your reasons.
And while you're at it, why highlight Shai's "5 out of his 6 centuries?" What is the relevance? And I am not saying there is no relevance.
I like Shai...however I do not believe that he is at the top of the heap in ODI.
I hope he excels and remain at the top post WC 2019.
In reply to Devin
Devin sir,we live in hope, like yuh doh know.
In reply to granite
I know man, but being hopeful doesn't mean one must lack objectivity.
