They are finding things to price hike. Food, water, transportation, and lotto winnings.

To think the poor people believed a wealthy aristocrat would have their best interest at heart.

what Mia is doing is collecting taxes up front, letting her people the consultants, gurus, czars etc make their money up front too and 18 months from the election cut a bit of taxes, fire some hanger-ons and tell the people see we bring some relief cos tings getting better

nick2020 2019-06-20 01:16:38

In reply to sudden

Yea. Massacrete the people with revenue collecting measures, and hope the hotel projects rebound the economy. Then provide relief just in time for elections.

I share your sentiments...

and said so where it matters.

As of Yesterday..

The NEW APPROACH is UNTIL MARCH 2020- NO Penalty.

I still cant tell you what the france Land Tax does...It has always been punitive for those who made an effort to better themselves with shelter and investments...

Barbados is turning into one of those countries so eloquently described by Trump.

Don't know if this is true or not but I was told the newly elected Government in Barbados is drastically reducing pensioners income to peanuts in order to save money.

One female's pension was reduced from over $1000 month (her only source of income) to only $47.51. She was paying her mortgage and bills from that pension.

Was also told a retired policeman had his pension of close to $1000 a month (his only source of income) reduced to only $179 a month. He was supporting three kids and paying the bills from his pension.

Pray tell, who in their right mind would want to live in such a country if the above is true?

Is it really that bad that a country would literally force pensioners out into the streets to save a few dollars?

Say it ain't so Barbados.

Yep. Seems to be the game plan for newly elected governments in the Caribbean. What's worse is that the Sheeple continue to fall for this trick time and time again.

That tactic isn't going to work anymore now that Barbadians are coming to the realization that there is no difference between the BLP and the DLP.

No Government can humiliate pensioners by reducing their income, not create jobs for the younger generation, have the majority poor population working for slave wages while at the same time providing free university education to people driving BMWs and Mercedes Benz to classes every day, hiring consultant friends at $80,000 a year, increasing Government Ministers salaries and increasing the Gov't to 30 Ministers.

Every person elected in Barbados as a result of the last general election was made a Minister. Little Barbados with a maximum 30 seats elected 30 BLP members and everyone of them got a Ministry with a portfolio.

These are policies of mad people or as Trump would say, policies of a s--- country.

That sounds strangely familiar. I thought that was happening right here in the USA.
Must be a dream.

Anyway what is not a dream is that my taxes went up almost $1500 this last tax season. Trump said he gave a big Christmas bonus to the Middle Class.
Imagine my surprise when I saw that there was no more personal exemptions to be had.
I had to hurry and put more money in an IRA to minimize the impact.

Amateurish.

Botched the Road Tax to Fuel Tax transition. People who had to pony up a whole year renewal had to write in to get a refund.

Botched the Public Transportation reform. Had to retract part of the fare increase and claimed the buses were coming.

Botched the garbage collection reform even after hitting people for 6 on the water bill. Still cant get your garbage collected.

Currently botching the plastic bag ban. Date moved twice now.

Currently botching the implementation of the "online tax". Cannot figure out how to actually achieve it.

Funny how it goes. They accused the Dems of being ineffective, incompetent and trying to tax their way out of economics hardship. So the only things the Bees are not right now are corrupt. Well there was that one instance so far...

Amateurish.

powen001 2019-06-21 01:53:52

well..

You know..If its one thing I have learnt over the years is that ignorance is bliss

when ignorant ppl get together and share ignorance, then it becomes something else.

the biggest irony is that when the truth drops...hardly a bwoy says...oh puhp I misread that...

carry on.

Absolutely no substance.

sudden 2019-06-21 11:19:00

In reply to nick2020

i have to agree with you there. nothing whatsoever to that offering by Powen.

you are correct as to the issues delineated in your previous post but there is no opposition to speak of to hold the BLP's feet to the fire.

the sad thing about that no opposition bit is that BLP is misreading the tea leaves. where there no political opposition any opposition that emanates from citizens as a collective is worse.

you can never control such a groundswell. they have been warned. Powen yuh hear

Powen is a useless, ineffective yard fowl who has been shuffled more often than a deck of cards but blames his outspoken approach.
