I am having to console de Indians....

hotarobin 2019-07-10 16:58:14

...in my office. It's only fair that I return the favor. They have been so gracious trying to console me whenever West Indies fell short of the mark throughout the tournament.

One guy jokingly said that he feel like jumping out of a window...we had a laugh but I have my eyes on him to ensure he doesn't do anything stupid. We are 7 floors up...still enough to for it to be fatal...

I estimate that we will lose some productivity for the balance of the week...

I am a bit of everything. Lived in India, lived in Barbados, born in Canada. Every Indo West Indian has roots in India, so they are free to refer to themselves as Indian.

My bond with India and many things Indian is strong. Not sure how many Indo West Indians can say they've been to India, much less lived there. I suppose I'm unique in that way.

Many, but sensible ones show loyalty to the region that birthed some and sustained many . . . Even Naipaul who could not remove his traitorous roots realized that it was this cauldron of shit that gave him his best writing . . . these mimic men . . . . Later he visited the other cauldron and learnt how lucky he was . . . as he saw real shat . . . .
confused

I left Canada before I was a year old. When i returned, i only lived here for two or three years before I moved to Barbados.

I don't have any allegiance to country, flag, anthem, or religion. I have likes and dislikes, i gravitate towards certain things, and stay away from others. I am not obligated to love the country in which I was born.

He was a walking sack of contradictions, in some ways the archetypal writer of the shifting and migratory 20th century. His life was a series of journeys between old world and new. He was a cool and sometimes snappish mediator between continents. Indian by descent, Trinidadian by birth, Naipaul attended Oxford and lived in London, where he came to wear elegant suits and move in elite social circles. “When I talk about being an exile or a refugee I’m not just using a metaphor,” he said. “I’m speaking literally.”

Well I am very disappointed that India loss. Indian fans are one of the few fans that have shown genuine love for Windies players all through our ups and down.

You know, most non West Indian fans of cricket get very mad when WI lose?
More than the CCC fair weather fans.
They would go on a la Dukesie about the WI great years, unsurpassed entertainment and energy that left a lasting impression on them.
They get mad that the people let the administrators run cricket to the ground like so.

Second most love/mad feelings center on Pakistan and the corrupt
administration/politics ruining another bunch of natural talents.

Nobody in my circles ever mock WI even after losing so much.
Just the West Indians do that.

Most of what you said is very true. The fellas always talking about our glory days. It like West Indies cricket gave inspiration to Indian cricket and they took it to another level...

However I think that we are all hard on our home teams, ask the English commies..

True, Indians speak fondly of Lloyd’s team and love Lara, incidentally they seldom speak about Indo WI players lol consider them sellouts? I wonder why?

How weird, not even quaint . . . this curious interest . . . borders on the insane . . . Its one species, they don't mix-there is no infertility nor hybrid vigour . . . I thought DNA testing taught people there were no purebreds . . . Why not take a DNA test and see yourself ....
