India crashes out of World Cup
NEW ZEALAND caused a semi-final sensation to send superpower India crashing out of the World Cup.
Virat Kohlis much-fancied men were set what looked a modest 240 to reach Sundays final at Lords.
But Indias top order - including run-machine Rohit Sharma and Kohli - were sent packing by the Black Caps bowlers.
Ravi Jadeja gave them hope with a heroic 77 in a World Cup-record seventh-wicket stand of 116 with MS Dhoni.
Yet Martin Guptills thunderbolt throw ran Dhoni out for 50 in the penultimate over - and India fell 18 runs short at Old Trafford.
Their last-four exit will have put a cricket-mad nation in mourning and is a repeat of four years ago, when they lost to Australia at this stage.
But Kane Williamsons Kiwis have now reached their second straight final - and will play the winner of tomorrows tie between England and the Aussies.
