Let's play the "if that were a West Indian" game.

Lol ha ha.
Thing is...yes there is merit but given the weight of whats at stake the umpires ought to be understanding and let it slide.
How would BENN react to that call in the semi final of a World Cup?
Lolllol. The umpire would want teeth for Teefing
Looks like OZ have finally found a replacement Bucknor.

or... Let's play the "if that was Virat Kohli" game. big grin

Listen. Ha ha Devin still sensitive
Looks like Roy's definitely gotten a fine, at the very least...
In reply to doosra
The standard of umpiring has been deplorable in the competition.
He escaped the ban simply because the ICC wanted to downplay this incident and not bring it in the limelight.
That's all
In reply to doosra
fair enough. let him play the final and get bowled down unLockily for a duck.... if he doesn't learn from this (about his outbursts), then ban he skecks....
I don't think a player should be banned for such reaction to a bad decision why not penalise the umpire those decisions can be career ending what if Roy was struggling for form and that was a make or break innings

That is not the debate here. The debate here is that others have been banned for less and there is no consistency with regard to punishment for violating rules.
Everyone should know what precisely are penalties for said incompetent umpires.
Ok...let pragmatism rule...they are playing in England. They are going into the finals. They have their best chance of winning with him in the side. He is in the form of his life.
The most he will get is a slap on the wrist.

True that

The ICC is just saving face here. To ban him would mean undue media attention on the shocking umpiring we have seen all season.
Holding almost got into trouble with the ICC for calling it out
In reply to Chrissy
Carlos questioned a decision he get fined
Jason Roy did same and was fined
In reply to brians_da_best
The decision was only shocking to you because you saw replays and ultraedge
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
I know, but if the umpires keep effing up thr way they've done this entire competition, the ICC needs to evaluate their selection criteria for umpires and training programs, etc
The man is averaging 80 for the year in ODI's, 15 short of a century and gets cheated
. how should he have reacted?
He probably should have gone up and give Dharma a big hug then walk off
..
Maybe he should have been angry at Bairstow too for using up the review on an LBW decision that was dead straight.
