West Indies are becoming the Uruguay of cricket.
Won a couple early world cups and not much else after that.

are you forgetting that west indies dominated a sport for 15 years? not even the first classical brazil team from 58-70 dominated for so long. Not even the current all blacks. wi legacy is still in a stratosphere where it is the sole occupant

not quite, WI won back to back and reach the final the third ,think there was a gap between Uruguay's victories.

The All Blacks dominance in Rugby Union will continue for a very long time.
Their talent programs, professionalism and devotion to the sport is unparalleled at all levels.
I honestly cannot see them plummeting to 4th or 5th best in the world.
They may lose the odd match but they will always put a team starting as favorites to win and more than likely win.

That is now........during the 90s and the noughties, with the exception of jonah lomu and Umaga, NZ were routinely beaten by the likes of the aussies and the springboks

The All Blacks problems in the mid 90's - mid 2000's was like with India's cricket team , they'd look a million dollars the whole tourney and then go in lose in the crunch game like they did in 95,99,03,05 and 07.Them getting among the cups after 07 had lots to do with Dan Carter and Richie McCaw's positive mindset to games.

That loss in 99 was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.By half time the then coach John Hart had driven to the airport and booked a flight.Didn't even bother staying the 2nd half lol: lol lol lol

For reference the AB's have a winning percentage in Tri Nations of nearly 70 percent between (96-'11) which features the Boks and Wallabies. Their winning percentage in Rugby Championship which features Boks,Wallabies and Pumas is sitting at nearly 90% iirc.

The All Blacks have a massive advantage over other nations with their massive scout network that essentially buys up the best Polynesian players and repatriates them to come and play for NZ.
