why all yuh so sensitive? I have nothing against Archer, I wish him a long and successful career. I am looking at it from a perspective of CWI spending more on development and providing more avenues for young players to play. In the end better results will pay back their investments many times over. And even then we will still lose potential superstars to other passions, beliefs, sports and other teams. Next time please ask a question before you vent.

cherri 2019-07-13 08:56:57

Why are we sensitive? When someone on the outside looking in and running talk....the ones on the inside looking out have a right to be sensitive.....
..please.

Not even Viv could out you semis in 1987 and nobody could after 1996..

Barry 2019-07-13 13:33:00

In reply to Khaga

And now people get you to the semis and then you go limp sad

Khaga 2019-07-13 13:34:24

In reply to Barry

So,your solution? Get the fork out of the tournament at the first opportunity?

Barry 2019-07-13 13:59:43

In reply to Khaga

Yes it is better than entering strong and firm...and then going limp...when success seems so close...and the tournament is struck with the wetness of the summer rains... sad

Khaga 2019-07-13 14:00:50

In reply to Barry

Stay limp all life,Barry..

why I understand your point, there is nothing wrong with assessing "brain drain". I understand that our nationality is a fabric of relatively recent history. My labor is geared to improving humanity and region because in my heart I am bound to these two things. Even so that do not mean that I wouldn't have to leave the region to advance myself and in so doing be able to make a better contribution to the region.

The Caribbean loses waves of talent to more dominant countries every year. Most of it will go unnoticed. However, when a high profile athlete chooses to represent a more dominant country, especially after representing their country at a junior level, details will be widely sought, opinions will be spewed endlessly and emotions will run wild.

Intelligence must rise over the confusion, emotion and propaganda. Assessing the economic, psychological and other impacts of such decisions and movement is part of intelligence. In the end I think for all people that love the Caribbean, we want a region where future generations are better able to fulfill all their dreams at home.

From the statement you made.. you coming over as slower than molasses going up a hill in winter..that he is Barbadian it is obvious his issues started in Barbados....so you really want to know what are the people in charge of cricket in Bim doing.....well they are doing what they like..plain and simple.like every territorial board they are doing what they have always done, the difference now is that there are opportunities out there for youngsters to explore and the ones like Archer who have choices will make them, and they don't owe a boy an explanation.....someone once said only the fittest of the fittest will survive.....meaning those with other options will explore them....just sayin'.

There is the little aspect of preparation meeting opportunity...Mr Emtage , the Bajan lad who first wrote the code for the search engine as we know it...a k a Google did it because he was in the environment that pushed brain storming and creativity and no bloody rules

Jofra felt abandoned...whether justified or not...He felt that way but he is not the only cricketer over the years to express those feelings...I could call nuff names of frustrated youngsters who based on loads of emotion and some evidence that others were being given breaks ahead of them etc etc etc etc etc...
JOFRA had an option and took it...its called choices....

truth be told...I could have easily migrated to Germany since 1992 or the USA a few years later based on chance meetings...its called choices.

This really isnt rocket science but the irony is thick seeing how MOST of us here have navel strings buried in the Caribbean but live across the GLOBE.

I am happy for the lad...and hoping that some of the sentiments here reach the eyes and ears of those in charge of our lads before the IPL and others dangle the sweets before them...to the detriment of our Cricket.
