Is Archer a hero or a traitor?

tigga 2019-07-12 15:32:59

People fret a lot here.

Fact is lot of us didn't know about Archer until he represent England. He like many other players in WI are sideline because of too much ineptness of some sort in WI selection process.

In my books he is doing what fair and took a lot of guts to get it done.

Unless Archer had ambitions of becoming a T20 mercenary, he made the right decision to run from the dysfunctional CWI.

runout 2019-07-12 16:26:51

Jofra is Jofra...people may choose to call him whatever.

Just allow the guy to make choices that will uplift him, and make his life more rewarding.

tigga 2019-07-12 16:39:04

Must say if Hengland wins this I will just watch his celebration only and pretend it is all a WI celebration smile.

Jofra isn't any different than most guys on here who no longer live or work in Caribbean. Leave the man to be!

Cant't say the same about dem Indians. wink

As far as I am aware.....he is the only West Indian in the WC final wink

He has made the region proud....and I hope he represents the region well tomorrow

Wondies are home and the three Lions are in the final, excellent decision that.

tigga 2019-07-12 18:38:28

It is nice to see a lot of people share the same sentiments. Seems unfair to treat the him as man scorned.

let the history book decide..it's not as simple as you put it.

It is simple as I put it I believe. People only create complex things.

big grin

Hero; would have been wasted in WI; his rapid development is a direct reflection of good coaching, proper infrastructure and team management etc. Similar windies players are struggling for everything that Jofra is benefiting from.

Halliwell 2019-07-12 20:48:45

He is English
He is British
Any feeling that “a West Indian is in the final” is just sad

What about Lord Harris, Pelham Warner, Devon Malcolm, Phil DeFreitas, Wilf Slack, Gladstone Small, Chris Lewis, Chris Jordan and Roland Butcher?

We lucky Greenidge decided to play for us.

Jofra Archer is another of the many post colonial products who glorify England and would kiss the dust the Englishman walks on. He says he decided to play for England after being dropped once from Windies junior team. Well ... I don’t know of any other player who wasn’t dropped sometime or the other in their careers & went on to represent the Regional senior team thereafter.

The People fretting are a few....

and the occasional wagonist.

I am happy for Jofra...

and I like NZ...wanted NZ to win....UNTIL ....

Stinking Broad is not in the English Line up so I can actually ( choke) support them...

Consider this... for our WORLD beaters to have done as well as they have under the jokers and WIN a few tournaments is actually a better testimonial than Jofras

Nuff of uall can’t see further than the next plate of breadfruit. There’s a good reason why the places u’all were raised are called LDC territories.

VoopsandOut 2019-07-13 23:40:19

it is amazing the emotion that Archer causes in this forum. The region has lost far more important persons than him who could have made a real contribution: doctors, engineers, teachers etc. Let the boy be and if he does well, let us celebrate as we would with any international sportsman when, after putting in the hard work, they do things that we can only sit on our couches and dream about doing ourselves.
