Does Barry pose a threat to you?

Man - any hurricane in this area is a threat.
However, thankfully it is not currently as strong, but is, and will bring disaster in some places.
I live in a little town just northW of NO about 10-20 miles from the City, but it is higher than the fishbowl that New Orleans is. It could flood in a few spots but not where I am.

Since morning we have only seen drizzles and high winds but no flooding etc.

If any of that starts up later tonight I’m ready - my generators are in place and tested this AM since we had a power cut. They kicked in as necessary so me have power.

Know this — me and family are ready to roll in 10 minutes IF ASKED TO LEAVE. We are Emergency Ready - all necessary papers and supplies to HIT THE ROAD JACK!!!

Some places already have flooding going on. I stayed put as part of the Emergency Response for my job.

Thanks All. I’ll report in later tonight if things change in the next few hours.
This storm is currently slow as Molasses - but does have some punch

Some Folks are just waiting for it, and some are dying for it to leave.

I’m fine guys .... had no issues in my neck of the woods. Some other places have issues. We resume work in the morning.

This is/was a most weird storm/hurricane. It still affecting other places. Sure it’s overcast and drizzly but apart from one power cut, and a few small tree branches falling in the neighborhood — we are good to go.

I’m having a Guinness or three as we speak. The devil has been good to me (shhhh - watch “Ironmold” come after me now) .... ahaha

Report brother np.

How did the Barry and the weather treat you/the city in general. From the news, it seems it was not as destructive as forecast, and the 10 inches of potential rains never came to be.

BTW, our "simultaneous" cold Guinness Saturday went down honorably. smile smile

Keep good and stay safe.

Things are back to basic normals. New Orleans dodged a BULLET here. Some other towns and cities and rural points closest to the GULF got battered.

The LEVEES in NO held up well.
This storm/hurricane was as SLOW as molasses and as it turned away from NO proper it split WEST and EAST belted other states while leaving NO barely touched in some places e.g. New Orleans. Some places in NO had basic flooding as to be expected in this FISH BOWL.

As for my area of abode about 15-20 miles from the downtown NO and Mississippi River, LA)- very little happened (It is much higher ground)- but guess what it is built up from swampy lands but higher, and better drainage - However it's getting lashed for the last 2 hours with more RAIN than during the STORM. Go figure!!

I'm back to the 'slave' this morning.

And yes - Sir Arthur was going down smooth like butter on Saturday and Sunday!! But I was prepared ... as usual - my emergency PLans in place, Vehicles ready and the generator kicked in when we had a power cut -- I cannot afford for my Guinness to get hot/warm ... big grin big grin big grin

It is great to hear that You are ok ,
I hope that there are no more Storms
or Hurricanes hitting anywhere in the
World .

The problem is that there are some
people with power & Influence who still insist that Global Warming is a hoax .

I believe in global warming but i always thought hurricanes were not a recent phenomena.
