A live clip was shown before the finals from Spain with Botham. The great man is in rehab in that sunny country. Drug addiction or alcohol abuse? That I have no clue.

So happy he is not in the commentary box b/c he is by far the most boring commentator ever and that list is long.

There are times when a wicket will fall and Botham will remain silent and then 5 minutes after he picks it up.

In addition, his voice and tone conveys boredom and therefor it is not good for the game.

I caught a glimpse of that clip without hearing any details. Botham has been a major boozer for a very long time. remember a story he told in his book; Botham Century, where he was assigned the job to get Sylvester Clarke drunk the night before an important game with Surrey. He did succeed. In the old days boozing was part of the English cricket culture.Some of our Windies heroes were no slouches either. Sobers and Worrell come to mind. Anyway, I wish the man well.
