England won because of an overthrow

If that ball had not come off Stokes bat giving the 6 runs instead of 2 England would have lost, then to have a tie and still lose is ridiculous, with a game this close the umpires should have called dead ball evil evil evil

I think that the Englanders won because they beat other teams to make the final and then took advantage of the opportunity!

Boult catch on the boundary cost NZ the match..

Greatest final ever tho.. best match I ever watched!

It was an excellent match dont get me wrong but with a game this close that incident stands out and is one of the reasons an impartial observer like myself will always question if England was ever better than New Zealand or if they just got lucky.

The old rule about the team that lost fewer wickets is the winner should be reinstated.

I never saw that part of the play. Had to take a break, No others seem to be commenting on it. But as you described it, it
was certainly crucial. The luckier team won today.
But it was a most enjoyable match. One for the ages.

it was blinking destiny. that stokes is the fittest most hard working player in that set-up and what Carlos Braithwaite done to him 2 years ago. The man deserve redemption.

What nonsense are you putting forward about dead ball? Are you saying the umpires should call dead ball although it was not a dead ball?

Makes no sense at all. An umpire just cannot make up his or her own rules.

I still think the six with Boult's error saved di Pommies. That one was annoying but it has happened before.

The most stupid rule is that the team with most fours wins in the event of a tie after a super over. That is absolute rubbish. A run is a run. Both teams won in my books.

WIForever 2019-07-15 01:31:18

Should have been 5 runs not 6 according to the law.
2nd run was not to be counted as Stokes and Rashid had not crossed yet.

There you go I am vindicated, it was an epic final but that will always have an asterisk next to it because of this umpire decision,
