...to have a say in the formulation of a Selection Policy is commendable.
This is a good start for the Skerrit administration.
We have long bemoaned the absence of inclusivity in the CWI decision making process and have openly expressed our disgust at the current state of affairs with regard to the non-selection of some of our players, albeit not without reason.
However such players and fans should not find the exclusions unreasonable in the face of T20 commitments which make the players absent for years from regional competitions and hence making themselves under current policy not eligible for selection.
With such a small pool of players to choose from stakeholders don't have luxury of players absenting themselves from regional competitions nor intransigence from the governing body.
We need to strike a balance in any future selection policy. And this is our chance to influence such a policy and one would hope that we grasp the opportunity.

CWI giving fans an opportunity...

So finally they are listening...
Now all they have to do is to look up a few of the threads you have posted about good governance.

I don't like it.
If it comes down to a one man one vote paradigm, then the Yardies, who comprise close to 50% of the cricket playing Caribbean, will certainly have the deck stacked in their favor, and most likely will vote their countrymen into the respective teams as well as the management structure.

oh gord ..not the Imam.
The problem at CWI they listen but do nothing , just
put the results on the shelves to gather dust.

Good PR move, but it's not as though the issues are not crystal clear.

I share your concern

Yep, the issues are undubitably clear. It's striking that happy medium with the policy formulation which will be difficult.

It's one thing to listen. It's another thing to allow sound views to influence policy. But it's a good start by CWI.
