Secondly: my sources are the same freaking folks who are going to write the article you want linked here rolleyes rolleyes rolleyes

Finally: the very first time this information was made public was when a former athlete tipped folks off.that athlete is not Jamaican so I can't understand how this has become a Jamaican thing.

No, positive test for Adderall which is ADHD medication but there was no TUE filed.

The other is missed test.

The third is not confirmed.

The athletes have been notified.

This is all from a source within the very top top top of that countries track.

I have written the story thrice and pulled back because it's so potentially damaging I would rather be accurate than first.

US Trials

They're now talking about it on Let's Run

You can write your story now Jamstar

Christian Coleman, the world's fastest man for the last three years, is fighting for his reputation over an alleged series of missed drugs tests.

Top level sources have told Sportsmail that the 23-year-old American sprinter, who was given a seven-figure sponsorship deal by Nike in 2017 after emerging as the successor to Usain Bolt, is disputing one of three whereabouts failures in the last 12 months.

But if Coleman is unsuccessful in having one of the three strikes cancelled he could face a lengthy ban that not only rules him out of next month's World Championships in Qatar but next year's Olympic Games.

Jamstar 2019-08-22 14:32:33

The story is about 3 though not one, one is as big as Coleman and the other not as big but all 3 are big big.

Christian Coleman, the world's fastest man for the last three years, is fighting for his reputation over an alleged series of missed drugs tests.

Ok, cool. So he did not test POSITIVE for a ban substance. He missed a few tests which has happened to other top athletes such as Serena Williams.

mikesiva 2019-08-22 14:53:33

In reply to nitro and Jamstar

Missing three tests is as bad as failing a drug test. It implies that you've something to hide. To miss one test is unfortunate, to miss two is careless, but to miss three is damn cheating!

When Christine Ohuruogu missed three tests, she was slapped with a one-year ban. Brianna Rollins was banned for the entire 2017 for the same crime...three consecutive drug tests missed.

Serena never missed three tests in a row, the way Coleman has done. Any prize money gained during that period, and times clocked, are erased, just as if you'd failed a drug test.

Coleman is now hoping that his legal team can prove that USADA is incompetent, the way British cyclist Lizzie Armitage was able to prove UKADA was incompetent.

Jamstar, with regards to the other two names...there's this guy who beat Coleman once or twice last year, who seems to have gone MIA this year. I wonder if he's a suspect....

Jamstar 2019-08-22 15:17:09

In reply to mikesiva

There are 2 guys that beat him, those 2 are the 2.

mikesiva 2019-08-22 15:29:20

In reply to Jamstar

Wow!

On sprintzone, they're reporting two years ban for Ronnie Baker and a slap on the wrist for Noah Lyles for a TUE infraction.

EDIT: Not any more. They're now saying that Coleman's facing a potential two-year ban, pending appeal.

But I've now heard from two separate sources that Baker's the third man.

Is it true that Lyles suffers from asthma? It's curious how so many premier athletes need medication for asthma....

Did not want to break any rules by calling names since the link people are so sensitive but Baker is the third man.

Lyles is for a ADHD medication called Adderall.

if the rumors are true, and Lyles is the one with the medical exemption, then i think he will just be warned. No one is beating him at 200m. his competitors will know he is masking, but he is gonna win, hands down. The 100 would definitely open up, as would the 4 * 1 relay.

Serena Williams was not at home when a drug tester made a surprise visit to her Florida home on June 14, a spokesperson for the tennis player said on Thursday as the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) said it had tested her on three occasions this year

“For fairness to athletes and their privacy, public disclosure of test missions are not made public, unless a stated time requires such notification.”

LONDON (AP) — Serena Williams says it isn’t fair that she has been drug-tested more than other American tennis players this year.. . .

Williams returned to competition this season after missing more than a year as a result of pregnancy. The 36-year-old American gave birth to a daughter last September.

Williams said she found it “a little frustrating” that she was deemed to have missed a test last month when a sample collector showed up at her house about 12 hours earlier than the time she had indicated she’d be available.

“I’m totally OK with testing and I encourage it,” Williams said.

She added: “It’s just about being equal and not centering one person out.”

As part of USADA’s “intelligent” out-of-competition testing program, it is not unusual for top athletes — those who have had sustained success in their sport — to be tested more often than others. It also is not unusual for athletes who have taken long breaks to be subject to additional testing because of natural physiological changes that might have occurred during the time off.

Tennis players can be tested by more than one agency, too.

Williams’ complaints about unequal testing were mentioned Sunday to Roger Federer, who estimated he has been tested seven times in the last month, including in-competition and out-of-competition.

“In the village I live in, in Switzerland, the tester lives in the same village, so it’s very convenient. It’s very convenient. If he’s bored at home, he probably just says, ‘Let me check in on Roger to see if he’s having a good time.’ Anyway, it’s only going to take 10 minutes, whatever,” Federer said. “I’ve been tested quite a bit, quite frequently out of competition.”

But he also noted that he’s only been asked to provide a sample once while he’s been in Dubai, his base for the past 15 years. He called that lack of tests “quite disappointing.”

Yes, as a journalist, you have to be careful about libel issues. As a former journalist myself, I know all about that!

Members of the public using a message board have greater leeway. For some reason, nobody sues a MB for defamation!

Coleman's hearing will be on September 4. Coleman is all over the news now. But nothing about Baker and Lyles yet.

Interesting.

nitro 2019-08-24 19:24:16

I think it is very premature to expect that Christian is not going to be at Doha because the more I investigate the situation, the more I believe that he will be in Doha.

There's no proof of innocence in that article, or in anything Ato said.

The only way he can overturn the decision is if he's successful in proving that USADA are incompetent. That's not impossible, because British cyclist Lizzie Armitage was successful in proving that UKADA was incompetent with one of her three tests. Coleman will be hoping for similar success. The question is this - is USADA as incompetent as UKADA?

JADCO got their act together by the time the Andre Russell case came up. When he sought to challenge the ruling, he was warned that if he failed he would definitely get a two-year ban. He took the advice of his legal counsel, and settled for a one-year ban.

Now, did USADA follow the correct procedure the way JADCO did with Russell? Or did they make a mess of the procedures, the way UKADA did with Armitage?

rudebway 2019-08-24 20:31:06

In reply to mikesiva

i wouldnt be shocked if he isn't banned. I assume his legal team and Nike will pull out all the stops. 3 missed tests get you banned, so i am sure they will work on invalidating one of the misses. the optics of missing 3 is horrible, but oh well

nitro 2019-08-25 10:55:02

The hearing is September 4. We will see. He never failed a drug test.

mikesiva 2019-08-25 20:43:58

In reply to nitro

That argument makes no sense. Three missed drug tests equals a failed drug test. Brianna Rollins and Christina Ohuruogu both served one year bans for three missed drug tests.

However, if Coleman can prove USADA are incompetent he may get off.

Funny how USADA are quiet about Lyles. The story will probably be leaked out after the World championships.

Three missed tests is not a simple infraction at all. Funny how you weren't crying for Andre Russell when he was given a one-year ban for the same offence.

Whether you are Christian Coleman or Andre Russell or Brianna Williams, if you commit a doping offence, you need to take your punishment. I don't excuse a "star" from drug offences, just because he or she is a "star".

We've heard about Coleman. We're still waiting news on....

Noah Lyles
Ronnie Baker

mikesiva 2019-09-02 20:40:03

In reply to rudebway

Christian Coleman, the world’s fastest man each of the last three years, was cleared in a case of missed drug tests that could have kept him out of the Olympics.

Coleman contested an anti-doping rule violation of missing three drug tests in a span of 12 months. Normally, that violation carries at least a one-year ban, even though the athlete may never have tested positive for a banned substance.

However, Coleman’s violation was withdrawn because his first missed test on June 6, 2018, was backdated to April 1, 2018. USADA said in a press release that the violation was for a filing failure (not updating his whereabouts for drug testers to find him), and April 1 was the first day of the quarter he failed to update.

That backdating meant the third whereabouts failure, on April 26, 2019, came more than 12 months after the first one. Coleman has an otherwise clean drug-testing record.

More here

Either USADA are incompetent or this is a whitewash. Which is it?

Smells ? ?
There is no more precious title in T&F to the USA than that of world's fastest man. They believe it is their god given right and as such
they will stop at nothing to get it back and keep it.The Bolt's years have been hurtful to them though not to extent of Win by Germany's
Amin Hary in 1960 Rome. It was as if their world ended.Fortunately they had Bob Hayes to reclaim. The cover up on Carl Lewis was one of the most
disgraceful acts ever, and the venom thrown at Ben Johnson was unmatched.
So I am least surprised at the Coleman decision. But since it's time they want,TIME will tell.
