if Democrats take over the Presidency is pure hogwash.

First of all, not all Democrats are to the far left and free college is going to be impossible.

And secondly, free healthcare is not going turn America into Venezuela, it didn't turn Canada into Venezuela.

Liz Warren and Bernie Sanders are not stupid and they are not being disingenuous, it is their intention to offer free college to everyone but it not going to happen, if it is going to get them a few more votes, so be it.

Free college will never pass the House and the Senate.

for you and all the others who dont understand what socialism means America is already socialist. and it became more so after the great depression when FDR bailed out the poor suffering masses with all those social programs and gave rise to the biggest middle class growth in US history. and then there were LBJ programs

ever since then the GoP has been seeking to end such programs with the help of the same people whom the programs benefited. yet the GoP has no problems in bailing out banks, big business, farmers and subsiding sugar producers etc.

more than ever USA needs people to go to college. the ignorance there is glaringly obvious. cut the military budget and support colleges and health care

i have some friends who are over 100k in student loans years after graduation

I do know that America have a few useful social programs but I am trying to dissuade the notion that America is going full out socialist.

US is capitalism for the poor and socialism for the rich.

the rich pays no or little taxes on income. they get bailed out when their businesses fail. they get subsidised but the poor dolts in the south talk about welfare queens and they dont want socialism when it is the said socialism that bailed them out after the great depression.

i believe there should be some expense to users for colleges and health care but no way near the amount paid now. no one should go into such deep debt for education and certainly not FOR healthcare in such a rich place as the US

There is a Right and there is a Left clearly defined in Political Science.

What people today loosely call the Left is not the Left and what they call the Right is not the Right. The Right has moved far over to the Alt-Right and the entire political environment over 40 years has shifted with it.

So what is now being called Centre is somewhere between Centre-Right and (the real) Right. And what is being called Left today is what we have always known to be the Centre. Get with the program.

What Ewart is saying is that the definition of what is considered left or right along the political spectrum does not change but the current manifestation of what is considered left wing zealot and right wing bigot along said spectrum has changed or is changing so much so that they are both pulling each other to the center. This is some of the things that make you upset about these democrats. They make no attempt to counter the ignorant musing of Trump and his just as dumb supporters with these arguments so people start to think these statements are true. For instance Trump spoke about democratic cities are the worst yet they do not counter with republican policies for housing, gerrymandering, policing, taxing etc. that have contributed to making these cities the way they are. So if you are ignorant and dumb you believe this is true. Maybe they are saving it for the national election but they keep letting the republicans get away with this stuff.
